 Dolly Parton returns to public eye to celebrate opening day at Dollywood     Dolly Parton made her first public appearance in months to celebrate the opening day of Dollywood in Pigeon Forge, Tennessee, on Friday. The country music icon reflected on the past year, a year after the death of her husband of nearly 60 years, Carl Dean, saying she is “doing good” and has been working to rebuild herself spiritually, emotionally, and physically after grieving and dealing with health issues that kept her from touring. Joined on stage by Dollywood president Eugene Naughton, Parton brought her trademark humor to the crowd, joking about rumors of a new husband while reaffirming her devotion to Dean. She also shared updates on her ongoing projects, including a new Broadway musical and her Dolly’s Life of Many Colors Museum in Nashville. THE ANAMBRA STATE MINISTRY OF EDUCATION HAS VOWED TO PROSECUTE THE WOMAN ACCUSED OF TORTURING A 17-YEAR-OLD FEMALE STUDENT IN AWKA.(PHOTO).

 The Anambra State Ministry of Education has vowed to prosecute the woman accused of torturing a 17-year-old female student in Awka.


The Commissioner for Education, Prof. Ngozi Chuma-Udeh, said the suspect, Osinachi Ede, will be arraigned before a court to serve as a deterrent against child abuse. She made this known while addressing the suspect in her office in Awka today 20th Feb. 


Ede, 29, was arrested by the Anambra State Police Command on February 3, 2025, for allegedly using a hot electric iron to inflict serious injuries on the girl, who was reportedly her house help.


The Commissioner said the move reflects the commitment of Governor Chukwuma Soludo to protect children in schools across the state. She also directed that the victim, who had been sent to her relatives, be returned to Awka.
