LIMA, PERU - A nightclub bombing in Peru has left 33 people injured, including three teenagers, authorities said Saturday.
The blast struck the Dali nightclub in Trujillo, on the northern coast, during the early hours before dawn, according to the local Emergency Operations Center. Five of the victims are in serious condition, with some undergoing surgery for shrapnel wounds and amputations, officials said. Among those injured are a 16-year-old and two 17-year-olds.
The motive behind the explosion remains unknown, and no suspects have been identified. The attack comes less than a month after another blast in Trujillo damaged 25 homes but caused no injuries. The region has seen rising violence linked to organized crime, extortion, and illegal mining. In 2025, authorities recorded 286 explosions across La Libertad, with nearly half occurring in Trujillo, highlighting ongoing security challenges.
