 You should be dead, doctors said they’ve never seen this - Hulk Hogan recalls shocking fentanyl use in final interview

Hulk Hogan is being remembered in a new light after revelations from his final recorded interview, where he spoke openly about the extreme pain management he relied on near the end of his wrestling career.

In the Netflix documentary Hulk Hogan: Real American, which premiered on April 22, Hogan reflected on a difficult chapter of his life. 

He d!ed in July 2025 at the age of 71, but his final interview was recorded earlier that same year.

In the film, he described how his physical condition had deteriorated over time, leading him to rely heavily on powerful medication while trying to continue performing. He explained that his body was worn down and he was still under pressure to stay active in wrestling.

The documentary also revisits the period following his divorce from Linda Hogan, which he described as emotionally and financially draining. He said he left the marriage having given up most of his assets, which pushed him into a difficult financial position.

Former wrestling executive Eric Bischoff also appears in the series, recalling how Hogan eventually joined TNA Wrestling after leaving WWE. He described that time as one of the most challenging periods in Hogan’s life, both personally and professionally.

According to Bischoff, Hogan was dealing with intense pressure, health struggles, and reliance on prescription medication while trying to stay in the industry. 

Another producer, Jeremy Borash, added that although the intention was for Hogan to remain active in the ring, it quickly became clear that his physical condition made that difficult.

Despite the challenges, Hogan continued working due to contractual obligations and financial necessity. 

Those close to him in the documentary described it as a period where he was trying to push through circumstances that were taking a serious toll on him.

Hogan himself gave a striking account of the medication he was using at the time, describing a combination of fentanyl patches and other prescribed pain relief methods. 

He recalled being told by a pharmacist that his intake level was far beyond what they had ever seen before.
