Serena Williams' husband addresses critics over White House UFC event Alexis Ohanian, husband of tennis star Serena Williams, faced backlash after attending President Trump’s 80th birthday celebration at the White House, which doubled as a UFC event staged by Dana White’s TKO group. The spectacle drew criticism when fighter Josh Hokit used his post-fight interview to make a vile slur about former First Lady Michelle Obama.  Ohanian, who co-founded Reddit and now owns several sports teams, stayed silent for days before finally condemning the remark on social media, insisting he had already left the event when it was made. In his statement, Ohanian explained that he attended at the invitation of UFC’s parent company and emphasized his past decision to resign from Reddit in protest against hate-filled communities. Daveigh Chase's former manager implores people not to donate to her boyfriend's GoFundMe page: 'Not going toward any expenses for Daveigh'

Following the death of actress Daveigh Chase at age 35, a dispute has emerged over a GoFundMe launched by her boyfriend, Roy Hernandez. Hernandez claimed the fundraiser was meant to cover medical and funeral expenses, insisting to TMZ that accusations of fraud were “100% false.”

He said Chase had suffered meningitis and severe blood infections before her condition became critical, and that he was trying to honor her memory.

However, Chase’s former manager and longtime friend John Ryan publicly urged fans not to donate, telling Deadline that the actress’s estate had sufficient funds to cover cremation and funeral costs. He accused Hernandez of excluding the family from hospital updates and using her passing for personal gain.

Ryan emphasized that Chase’s father and close friends were handling arrangements, and described the fundraiser as misleading, urging people to report the page.

The controversy has added a painful layer to Chase’s passing, remembered by fans for her roles in Lilo & Stitch, Spirited Away, Donnie Darko, and The Ring, which earned her an MTV Movie Award for Best Villain.

Her last credited role was in the 2016 film American Romance. While Hernandez defends the fundraiser, Chase’s family and friends remain adamant that it is illegitimate, leaving fans caught between conflicting accounts in the wake of her tragic death.
