 CBN limits card issuing, merchant acquiring market share for financial institutions The Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) has introduced new measures aimed at curbing market concentration in the country’s payments ecosystem, including limits on the market share operators can hold across card issuing and merchant acquiring services. Card issuing refers to the provision of payment cards to customers, while merchant acquiring involves processing card payments on behalf of businesses. In a circular signed by Rakiya Yusuf, director of the payments system supervision department, on Monday, the apex bank said the measures are aimed at addressing concerns over market concentration, operational dependence, systemic importance and the localisation of payment transaction data. Nollywood actress Nkechi Blessing has reacted to the news of popular designer Luminee welcomed a child with her disgraced colleague, Baba Ijesha.


 Yesterday the 15th of June 2026 the news of the Yoruba actor, who was imprisoned for raping a minor, announced that he had welcomed a child with the celebrity stylist. He said that God had been writing his story and had given him more than he prayed for – a wife and now a baby boy.


Confirming the news, Luminee expressed how overwhelmed she was with joy at their baby’s birth. She affirmed her love for Ijesha, saying he is one in a million and his heart is pure


On her Instagram page, she shared a video of herself, being perplexed over the news. Nkechi questioned how it was possible.
