 Kufana Youths Apprehend Suspected Transformer Vandals, Hand Over Suspects To Police The Executive Chairman of Kajuru Local Government Council, Hon. Dauda Madaki, has commended the vigilance and bravery of youths in Kufana community following the arrest of suspected transformer vandals in the early hours of Tuesday. The suspects, identified as Denis Reuben of Kurmin Ido, Haruna Ado of Kurmin Kwari, and another individual, were reportedly caught while allegedly attempting to steal transformer coils. Their arrest was carried out by a patrol team led by Mr. Samaila Akawu, alongside the community Youth Leader, Mr. Chris Lingo, and other vigilant youths. Following the arrest, the suspects were handed over to the Nigeria Police Force for further investigation and possible prosecution. Reacting to the development, Hon. Gov. Hope Uzodimma has ordered for the arrest and prosecution of individuals and groups parading themselves as members of security taskforce on petroleum matters in the State. The Governor has mandated the Imo State Commissioner of Police, Abutu Yaro to see to the arrest and prosecution of any person or group of persons found impersonating the State Government tagged petroleum security taskforce. According to Gov. Uzodimma, Imo State Government is yet to constitute a security taskforce on Petroleum Matters therefore, anyone or group of people working on such capacity risks being arrested. The governor made the assertion on Thursday when he visited the project site at Rumuokuta in Obio-Akpor Local Government Area, to inspect the progress of work done already. Governor Wike said that no amount of money spent in putting in place facilities that will secure the health of all residents in the state will be considered a waste. Nigerian Army Participants of National Defence College Course 29 today, formally presented a Research Paper to the Chief of Army Staff (COAS), Lieutenant General Faruk Yahaya in partial fulfillment for the award of the prestigious Fellow Defence College (fdc). The Research Paper titled “Pandemic and National Security in Nigeria: Implications for the Nigerian Army" was presented at the Army Headquarters Conference Room Abuja by Col Olutosin Ogunleye on behalf of the participants. The Commandant of the College, Rear Admiral Oladele Daji, who led the participants to Army Headquarters, said the NDC Course 29 assembled in September 2020 and were subsequently given a topic to research on by the COAS.
