Two Convicted for Cyber-fraud in Abuja The EFCC, Abuja Zonal Command on Friday, July 8, 2022, arraigned the duo of Musa Thankgod Precious and Agbo Victor Nduh before Justice N.I. Afolabi of the Federal High Court Lafia, Nasarawa State for their involvement in internet related fraud. Musa, 21, impersonated one Alex Andrew from Italy using fake Instagram and Facebook accounts with the intention of obtaining Malaysian Ringgit 10,000 (Ten Thousand Malaysian Ringgit), while Agbo, a 23-year-old electrician, using  the Instagram app, pretended to be one David Smith, an   American, with the intent to gain advantage for himself. Both pleaded guilty to the one count charge preferred against them.

A 19-year-old student of the Obafemi Awolowo University (OAU) Jamila Ayo Abu, has been declared missing in Ibadan.    The 100-level student was said to have left her parents' home at Ireakari Estate, along Akala-Expressway, Ibadan, on Wednesday, July 6, 2022, for unknown destination and did not return home.    According to Jamila's mother, Mrs Abu, she complained of headache and that was why she could not follow her to the office.    "When I got home on Wednesday evening, I met her mobile phone on the table, and I became worried when I could not see her within and even in the neighbourhood. I have been trying to know her whereabouts but the effort has not yielded any fruit," she said.    "We waited for some hours and when we didn't see her, we had to report the incident to the police formally.   "I will be very happy if we can get any vital information on her whereabouts. People on Twitter are currently attempting to ban former presidential aide Reno Omokri on twitter for writing a comment many felt could incite the Hausas against the Igbos following presidential candidate Peter Obi's interview on Arise TV on Wednesday June 6th.  In the interview, Obi partly said "The comment from my respected elder brother, Kwankwaso, is the reason why we have 100 million Nigerians living in poverty (and) the reason why we have 18 million Nigerian children out of school. Gov of Yobe Mai Mala Buni has donated the sum of 300 Saudi Riyals to each of the State Pilgrims performing the 2022 Hajj exercise. The donation is to support cushion the high cost of Rams this year. Alh. Bukar Kime, executive Chairman of the State Pilgrims Commission, stated this today at Arafat, Saudi Arabia. Kime called on the Pilgrims to reciprocate the gesture by offering special prayers on this special day of Arafat to the State and the Country at large. The governor prayed for a successful Hajj exercise and Sallah celebrations at home. Gov. Buni had in the past Hajj exercise made similar donations to Pilgrims from the state.
