Adejo, Omenka The Senator representing Benue South Senatorial District, Comrade Abba Patrick Moro and PDP   gubernatorial deputy Governorship candidate of Benue State Sir John Ngbede on Friday, joined families and other sympathizers to attend the burial ceremonies of Professors Armstrong Matiu Adejo and Frank Iba Omenka. While Adejo, a Professor of history at Benue State University and a school mate of Senator Moro at Emmanuel Secondary School, Ugbokolo, was buried in his country home, Auke, in Apa Local Government Area, Prof. Omenka, a former Commissioner and Lecturer at the Federal University, Wukari, Taraba State, was buried in Ainu, Oju LGA. Turkish basketball player Nilay Aydogan found dead among the rubble following devastating earthquake that has killed more than 33,000 across the region.  Aydogan, 30, who played for Turkish Super League side Cankaya University, had reportedly gone to visit her grandmother in Malayta when the devastating earthquake struck, collapsing the apartment block. The basketball player and her grandmother were found dead among the rubble, with the search continuing in hundreds of Turkish and northern Syrian settlements to try and find people still alive. Aydogan had played for a number of teams across her career in Turkey, including Osmaniye, Yalova and Mersin in the Turkish second division. Aydogan is the latest athlete in Turkey to have lost their life in the tragic natural disaster to hit the country last week. DSS Releases Fani-Kayode After Six Hours Interrogation February 13, 20230 The Department of State Services (DSS), has released one of the spokespersons for the All Progressives Congress (APC) presidential campaign council, Femi Fani-Kayode, after six hours of interrogation on his allegations of a possible coup being planned by Atiku and top Army generals. The Director, Media and Publicity, Tinubu/Shettima Campaign, Bayo Onanuga, disclosed this on Monday via his official Twitter account. He wrote, “Femi Fani-Kayode released by DSS after about six hours of interrogation.” Recall that Fani-Kayode in a series of tweets on Monday confirmed the invitation, expressing that he is not afraid of being questioned by DSS as he has done nothing wrong.

 INEC Explains Why Election Won’t Hold In 240 Polling Units, Names 28 Affected States February 13, 2023 Barely 25-days to the February 25, and March 11, 2023 general elections in Nigeria, the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), has announced that it will not conduct election exercise in 240 polling units across 28 states and the FCT. This was made known on Monday, February 13, by the Commission’s Chairman, Professor Mahmood Yakubu, during a meeting with political parties on Monday. According to Yakubu, no voters registered nor indicated interest to transfer to the affected units during the last Continuous Voter Registration (CVR) due to insecurity. “Let me therefore start with the issue of polling units. You may recall that in 2021, with your support and that of other critical stakeholders, the Commission successfully expanded voter access to polling units 25 years after the last delimitation exercise in 1996.
