 Kufana Youths Apprehend Suspected Transformer Vandals, Hand Over Suspects To Police The Executive Chairman of Kajuru Local Government Council, Hon. Dauda Madaki, has commended the vigilance and bravery of youths in Kufana community following the arrest of suspected transformer vandals in the early hours of Tuesday. The suspects, identified as Denis Reuben of Kurmin Ido, Haruna Ado of Kurmin Kwari, and another individual, were reportedly caught while allegedly attempting to steal transformer coils. Their arrest was carried out by a patrol team led by Mr. Samaila Akawu, alongside the community Youth Leader, Mr. Chris Lingo, and other vigilant youths. Following the arrest, the suspects were handed over to the Nigeria Police Force for further investigation and possible prosecution. Reacting to the development, Hon.  ICPC, CoDA Renew Pact on Asset Recovery, Illicit Financial Flow The Independent Corrupt Practices and Other Related Offences Commission (ICPC) and the Coalition for Dialogue on Africa (CoDA) are to strengthen their cooperation agreement towards tackling the Illicit Financial Flows and providing support for the Common African Position on Asset Recovery (CAPAR). The Chairman of the ICPC, Dr. Musa Adamu Aliyu, SAN, made this known on Tuesday during the visit of the Executive Director of CoDA and Head of the Secretariat of the African Union High-Level Panel on Illicit Financial Flows, Mrs. Souad Aden-Osman, to his office.  Kaduna Court Jails  Four Internet Fraudsters   The Kaduna Zonal Command of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC, has secured the conviction and sentencing of four internet fraudsters before Justices Darius Khobo and A.A Isiaka of the Kaduna State High Court, sitting in Kaduna.   They were jailed on Tuesday,  March 19,  2024.  Justice Isiaka convicted and sentenced Mohammed Ibrahim and Ibrahim Yusuf while  Mubàrak Olarewaju Ibrahim and Olorunfemi Feyi Samuel were jailed by Justice Khobo.  All the convicts were prosecuted on one-count separate charges bordering on fraudulent activities and cheating by impersonation. They all pleaded “guilty” when the charges were read to them.  Following their pleas, prosecution counsel,  M.E Eimonye and M. Lawal urged the courts to convict and sentence them accordingly.  Tobi Amusan wins women’s 100m hurdles heat at African Games Nigerian sprint icon, Tobi Amusan has won the women’s 100m hurdles Round 1 heat at the 13th Africa Games in Ghana.  Amusan won the heat with a time of 13.03s.  With her victory, she secured a spot in the semis of the women’s 100m hurdles.

 Subsea cable cuts: Services successfully restored – MTN Following subsea cable disruptions last Thursday, Bayobab Group, a subsidiary of MTN Group, has announced the successful restoration of its operations. The telecom operator disclosed this in a statement on Tuesday. MTN said that despite the challenges presented by the cable disruptions, its subsidiary demonstrated its capabilities by swiftly recovering over 3 Terabits per second (Tbps) of capacity across its footprint. The statement reads: “As of March 19, 2024, Bayobab Group, a subsidiary of MTN Group, has successfully restored its operations, recovering over 3 Terabits per second (Tbps) of capacity across our footprint. “Although the recent subsea cable disruptions on 14 March 2024 presented challenges, we have demonstrated our capabilities to maintain a resilient network and efficiently reroute traffic. “Throughout this challenging period, we prioritised the restoration of services by swiftly activating new cables to incre...
