 Corey Feldman hospitalized after mid-flight medical emergency at LAX  Actor Corey Feldman was hospitalized after experiencing a medical emergency during a flight and being taken directly from Los Angeles International Airport to a hospital, according to his publicist. The 54-year-old actor reportedly became ill while traveling from Chicago to Los Angeles on Monday. A doctor on board evaluated him during the flight before he was met upon arrival and transported for further treatment. He remained in the hospital overnight for observation. Early speculation suggested the issue could be related to gallstones, but his publicist said that possibility was ruled out by medical staff. Feldman was still undergoing evaluation and awaiting MRI results as of Tuesday morning.  Delta State Among First to Implement New Minimum Wage – Aniagwu Delta State Commissioner for Works, Charles Aniagwu, has confirmed that Delta was one of the first states to implement the new N70,000 minimum wage, starting in October 2024. He emphasized that the state is not only meeting the federal wage but exceeding it. Aniagwu highlighted the state’s smooth labor relations, attributing it to Governor Oborevwori’s labor-friendly policies. He also discussed significant healthcare improvements, including the renovation of 64 general hospitals and the establishment of a new teaching hospital in Ozoro. Additionally, over 220,000 Deltans have been empowered through various programs, contributing to both local business growth and increased security, with new vehicles provided to law enforcement.

 Ex-Servicemen Demand Payment of Pension Arrears from FG The Ex-Service Men and Family Welfare Association of Nigeria, led by President Anthony Agbas, has urged the federal government to settle all outstanding pension arrears and entitlements for military pensioners.  Speaking at a peaceful rally in Abuja, Agbas highlighted the financial struggles faced by veterans and called for payment of palliatives, salary increments, and arrears. The association emphasized the sacrifices made by military veterans in protecting the nation, while a Ministry of Finance official assured them that their requests were being processed.

 Airport project: Land donors will be compensated – Abia Govt Abia State government says it has commenced survey activities at the site of the proposed Abia International Airport in Nsulu, with a promise to compensate land donors in line with the Land Use Act. The Commissioner for Lands and Housing, Mr. Chaka Chukwumerije, who stated this while speaking to journalists, said proper enumeration of lands will be done and compensations paid to those whose lands will be used for the project. Chukwumerije was reacting to the protest by some indigenes of donor communities which took place over the weekend. He said that the Chief of Staff to the Governor, Caleb Ajagba, and the Special Assistant on Lands and Housing, Okorougo Aji held extensive negotiations with natives covering the seven land donor communities in Nsulu.  Senate halts action on tax bill, sets meeting to resolve contentious issues The Senate leadership has directed its Committee on Finance to suspend further action on the proposed tax bill pending the outcome of a high-level meeting with the Attorney General of the Federation (AGF). The Deputy Senate President, Sen. BARAU Jibrin who made the announcement today during plenary disclosed that a special committee has been constituted to address contentious issues in the bill, with the meeting scheduled for tomorrow, Thursday, Dec 5th. The decision follows a series of deliberations by lawmakers aimed at resolving disagreements over key provisions in the proposed legislation. The contentious areas have sparked debates among stakeholders in the last couple of days.
