 Meta to end end-to-end encryption for Instagram direct messages Meta is ending end-to-end encryption for Instagram direct messages, a feature the company says will no longer be available after May 8, 2026. Unlike WhatsApp, Instagram never offered encryption to all users or as a default; only select users in certain regions could opt in on a per-chat basis. A Meta spokesperson explained that the decision comes due to low adoption. “Very few people were opting in to end-to-end encrypted messaging in DMs, so we’re removing this option from Instagram in the coming months,” the spokesperson said. “Anyone who wants to keep messaging with end-to-end encryption can easily do that on WhatsApp.” Meta’s messaging strategy has shifted multiple times over the years. WhatsApp chats have been encrypted since 2016, and the company began rolling out default encryption for Messenger in 2023. MAJ GEN IM ALKALI'S DEAD BODY,FOUND IN A WELL AND OTHER ITEMS RECOVERED.{PHOTOS}.

      Update on Search and Rescue Operations for missing Maj Gen IM Alkali (rtd). In continuation with the search and rescue of Maj Gen IM Alkali (rtd) At about 0715hrs today 31 Oct 2018, a team made up of personnel of Nigerian Army Intelligence Corps, MIlitary Police, Public Relations, Nigeria Police Force, Fire Service rescue team as well as members of other security agencies set out to a suspected well where the exhumed body was allegedly dumped on the night of 29 Sep 2018 following the recovery of his car from the pond.
The Team was joined by Troops from 3 Div Garrison and Nigerian Army Engineers to drain the well.The well was drained revealing the decomposed body parts of the Senior Officer. Further search led to recovery of other items including the shirt the senior officer wore on the day of his disappearance. More details later.More photos below.
