 Alleged Cybercrime : Court Gives Sowore Final Warning To Conclude Defence  The Federal High Court in Abuja handed a final warning to online publisher and presidential candidate of the African Action Congress (AAC), Omoyele Sowore, to conclude his defence, or be foreclosed. Justice Mohammed Umar gave the warning after lawyer to the Department of State Services (DSS) Akinlolu Kehinde, SAN, made an oral application shortly after Sowore sought an adjournment over his lead counsel's absence.  The DSS is prosecuting Sowore for for allegedly cyber-bulling President Bola Tinubu by calling him a "criminal” in posts he made last September in 2025 on his “X” and Facebook accounts.   COURT DENIES BAIL TO JOHN AGBO ARRESTED FOR PLANNING MULTIPLE ATTACKS ON ABUJA SCHOOLS The Federal High Court Abuja division has denied bail to a man arrested by the Department of State Dervices, John Jude Agbo for allegedly planning multiple attacks on several schools in the Federal Capital Territory, Abuja. The Presiding Judge, Justice Joyce Abdulmalik denied the defendant bail after the prosecution presented a fourth witness and thereafter, closed its case in the matter.  Agbo faces terrorism and cybercrime charge for allegedly planning to harm schools, their students and teachers.  Ruling on the defendant's bail application, the trial Judge held that there was no evidence to show that Agbo would not jump bail.  The court ordered the defendant to be remanded in the custody of the Nigerian Correctional Service .  Former Miss SA contestant Chidimma and Miss Universe Nigeria Adetshina has appeared in the Cape Town Regional Court to challenge her deportation. Her legal team is expected to present an affidavit outlining the steps she has taken to regularise her immigration status following her arrest on 6 June for allegedly being in the country illegally. Authorities want her out of the country because she has been allegedly staying witjiut valid documents.  This development comes in the wake of anti-immigration activism in South Africa, and souring diplomatic relations between South Africa and Nigeria. Just yesterday, the South African Government issued a warning against Nigeria, Ghana and other African countries planning to nationalise the South African companies and assets abroad not to do so, claiming the consequences would be castrophic for host nations. 

 A recent tragic "workplace accident"... may not have been an accident at all.   A 46-year-old, Lorenzo Gonzalez, was working with a crew at a construction site in Harris County, Texas, when his life was unexpectedly cut short.   At approximately 7:45 a.m. on Monday, July 13th, Lorenzo lost his life after plummeting down a 30-foot utility shaft. A call to 911 was immediately placed after Lorenzo fell down the shaft, and first responders quickly arrived on the scene.  Upon their arrival, a member of the Sheldon Fire Department wasted no time climbing down the shaft to attempt to save Lorenzo's life.  Sadly, when first responders reached Lorenzo, they determined that nothing could be done at that point and Lorenzo was pronounced deceased. The Nigerian Senate has passed the Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC) Act (Amendment) Bill, 2026, introducing significantly stiffer penalties for various traffic offences in a bid to enhance road safety and curb reckless driving. The legislation, which is now awaiting presidential assent, raises fines for several violations by as much as 300 percent. Among its key provisions is a N50,000 fine for anyone caught hawking, trading, or preaching inside commercial buses. Lawmakers introduced the clause to eliminate distractions in public vehicles and improve commuter safety.
