 U.S equipment, experts arrive at Kenya Ebola facility despite court order, protests Around 20 flights carrying medical equipment and specialist staff have landed at a base in Kenya where the U.S. ​government is continuing to build an Ebola quarantine facility despite protests and Kenyan court orders blocking it, according to flight data and officials. At least two ‌people have been killed in protests in the central Kenyan town of Nanyuki, home to the Kenyan air force base where the U.S. military is building a 50-bed unit for Americans who might be exposed to the virus, which has infected hundreds in Democratic Republic of Congo and Uganda. A Kenyan court first ordered work on the Ebola facility to be suspended on May ​28, yet U.S. military flights into Nanyuki continued in the days that followed, according to data from flight-tracking service Flightradar24. BANDITS KILL 2 ABDUCTED WOMEN 'FOR RESISTING RAPE' IN KADUNA 


Two women abducted by suspected bandits in Kaduna State have been reportedly killed after resisting alleged sexual assault, despite their families paying N13 million ransom for their release.


The victims were among several residents kidnapped from Janjala community in Kagarko Local Government Area of Kaduna State.

Sources said the abductors initially demanded N14 million for the victims’ release. After weeks of negotiations, families reportedly raised N13 million, which was delivered to the bandits at a location near Hayin Dam forest in neighbouring Kachia Local Government Area.


A local source told Daily Trust that while some of the captives were freed after the payment, the bandits withheld the male victims.


According to the source, the kidnappers later informed families that the two women had been killed.

“As the girls refused to allow the bandits rape them, their leader ordered them to be shot on the spot,” the source said.


The bandits were also said to have demanded an additional N1 million and food supplies for the release of the remaining captives.


A security source confirmed the killing of two women but declined further details.


A community leader in the area also corroborated the incident, describing it as “tragic and heartbreaking.”

The development adds to growing concerns over rising insecurity and kidnapping-for-ransom incidents across parts of Kaduna State.
