OFFICERS IN OKLAHOMA HAVE BEEN PLACED ON ADMINISTRATIVE LEAVE FOR AN APRIL FOOL'S JOKE.(PHOTO)

"Delta 13 just advised they threw a baby out the window."

Officers in Oklahoma have been placed on administrative leave for an April Fool's joke.

An investigation into the actions of officers with the Oklahoma City PD has been initiated after a local station published police radio audio from April 1st.

The audio released of the hoax or "joke" perpetrated by an unspecified number of officers was in regard to a police pursuit. In the audio, you hear one officer claiming that a "baby had been thrown out the window" of the fleeing vehicles. Another officer can be heard reporting that a "transient had been run over".

The Oklahoma City Fire Department immediately dispatched an engine, rescue ladder trucks, and a "blood unit" in response to the fake "joke" report. Troopers with the Oklahoma Highway Patrol also urgently responded to the call.

Some dispatchers were upset after learning that the transmissions were a hoax with one dispatcher heard saying, "That wasn't funny."

OCPD captain Valerie Littlejohn confirmed an internal investigation was ongoing saying, "We are aware of a reported pursuit involving some of our officers that included serious claims, which has since been determined to be false.  We take this situation seriously and are committed to ensuring a thorough review is conducted."
