U.S equipment, experts arrive at Kenya Ebola facility despite court order, protests Around 20 flights carrying medical equipment and specialist staff have landed at a base in Kenya where the U.S. government is continuing to build an Ebola quarantine facility despite protests and Kenyan court orders blocking it, according to flight data and officials. At least two ‌people have been killed in protests in the central Kenyan town of Nanyuki, home to the Kenyan air force base where the U.S. military is building a 50-bed unit for Americans who might be exposed to the virus, which has infected hundreds in Democratic Republic of Congo and Uganda.  Suspected Bandits Ambush Zamfara Governor’s Chief of Staff, Alhaji Mouktar Lugga’s Convoy

G+nmen suspected to be bandits opened fire on the convoy of Alhaji Mouktar Lugga, the Chief of Staff to the Zamfara State Governor, along the Funtua–Gusau highway yesterday evening. The attack occurred near Kucheri village at around 6:16 p.m., once again highlighting the persistent insecurity affecting parts of northern Nigeria.

Lugga was returning to Gusau from an official engagement when the attackers suddenly emerged from both sides of the road, unleashing heavy g+nfire on the vehicle carrying him, his driver, and two other occupants. A bullet reportedly pierced the windshield, narrowly missing the driver, while another assailant’s weapon failed to fire at close range.

Despite the intensity of the ambush, the driver maintained composure and accelerated out of the danger zone, ensuring that all occupants escaped unharmed.

The latest attack underscores growing concerns over the worsening security situation in Zamfara State, where banditry, kidnappings, and highway attacks continue largely unabated despite ongoing military operations.
