Three more suspects arrested in London ambulance arson investigated as antisemitic hate crime

Three more suspects have been arrested in connection with the arson of four ambulances operated by a Jewish charity in London.

The latest arrests include two British men, ages 20 and 19, and a 17-year-old boy with dual British and Pakistani nationality. All three are being investigated on suspicion of conspiracy to commit arson with intent to endanger life. Two other men, aged 45 and 47, were previously arrested on similar charges but released on bail.

Counterterror police are treating the fire as an antisemitic hate crime. Authorities are also examining a claim of responsibility from a group with possible links to Iran, though the incident has not been formally classified as terrorism.

The blaze occurred on March 23 in Golders Green, a north London area with a significant Jewish community. The fire destroyed four ambulances belonging to Hatzola Northwest, a volunteer organization providing emergency medical services, and caused oxygen cylinders in the vehicles to explode, shattering windows in a nearby apartment block.

Cmdr. Helen Flanagan, head of counterterror policing, said investigators have been working around the clock to identify those responsible. She added that while concern remains high among the local Jewish community, the recent arrests demonstrate law enforcement’s commitment to bringing those behind the attack to justice.
