Britney Spears is focusing on healing and personal reflection after her recent reckless driving case concluded in court.
Her legal team, led by attorney Michael A. Goldstein, entered a “wet reckless” plea on her behalf on Monday, May 4, in connection with an arrest on suspicion of DUI in Ventura, California, on March 4. Following the hearing, Spears did not appear in court and was represented by counsel.
In the aftermath, the 44-year-old singer shared a more reflective note on Instagram over the weekend, posting a video of herself holding a baby snake during what she described as time spent at a pet store.
“Went to the pet store with my kids and look at what a beautiful baby snake this is,” she wrote on Saturday, May 9. She went on to describe snakes as symbols she associates with “good health, higher consciousness, and pure luck.”
Without directly addressing the court case in her caption, Spears shifted toward a more personal message about gratitude and emotional growth. She described her recent experiences as part of what she called a “spiritual journey,” adding that she has been meeting “new beautiful people” along the way.
“I’m so thankful to my friends and so many new beautiful people I have met through my spiritual journey, all a blessing in disguise,” she wrote. “I still have to learn how to be kind to myself and the way I speak to myself, it’s a never ending journey.”
She added a more emotional reflection at the end of the post, saying she sometimes pauses to appreciate where she is mentally and emotionally. “Sometimes I just stop, look up and say wow God I think that was you and smile,” she wrote.
Following the court proceedings, Spears’ attorney issued a statement saying she had accepted responsibility and taken steps toward change.
He noted that the Ventura County District Attorney’s decision resulted in a reduced charge and dismissal of the DUI allegation.
According to the court outcome, Spears received 12 months probation, a fine of $571, and one day in jail with credit for time served. She was also ordered to complete a three-month DUI program, attend regular therapy sessions with a psychologist and psychiatrist, and comply with vehicle search conditions involving drugs and alcohol.
At the time of her arrest, a representative described the situation as “an unfortunate incident that is completely inexcusable,” adding that Spears would comply with legal requirements and seek appropriate support moving forward.
