Mrs. Blessing Kingsley, a resident of No. 2 Show Light Street, Nkpikpa, Ogbaru, has urged the Nigeria Police Force (NPF) to expedite a thorough investigation into her husband Kingsley Ogbonna's alleged murder by co-tenant Friday Francis.
The incident unfolded during a heated verbal dispute at a tenants' meeting in their shared building. Kingsley was struck by Francis, rushed first to Emmanuel Hospital in Nkpikpa, Ogbaru—where he wasn't revived—and later pronounced dead at Bex Hospital on Owerri Road, Obosi.
The case was reported and registered at Okpoko Police Station. Officers arrested Francis, and the matter was transferred to the Criminal Investigations Department (CID) in Awka for deeper probe ahead of arraignment.
The widow and mother of four young children, including two sets of twins, Mrs. Kingsley expressed profound grief and a longing for justice. "My life has been completely upended, and I cannot cease weeping," she said. "I feel powerless and do not know where to turn for help. I find myself still watching the door, hoping it will open and my husband will walk through."
