Speaker of the House of Representatives, Abbas Tajudeen, has dismissed reports suggesting a disagreement between him and Kaduna State Governor Uba Sani, describing their relationship as strong and built on mutual trust and a shared commitment to the state's development.
Speaking during the distribution of 60,000 bags of fertiliser to farmers under the Renewed Hope Fertiliser Distribution 2026 programme in Zaria, Abbas urged members of the All Progressives Congress (APC) to remain united and avoid spreading rumours capable of creating unnecessary divisions within the party.
He stressed that political differences should never take precedence over the party's collective goals and the development of Kaduna State.
Recent speculation of a rift between the Speaker and Governor Uba Sani had sparked debates among APC supporters in Zaria, with loyalists on both sides exchanging accusations on social media ahead of the 2027 elections.
Addressing the rumours, Abbas assured party members and residents that both leaders remain committed to working together for the progress of Kaduna State and the continued strength of the APC.
According to the Speaker, the current level of cooperation between the Kaduna State Government and members of the National Assembly from the state is unprecedented.
He said his relationship with Governor Uba Sani is founded on mutual respect, trust and a common resolve to improve the lives of Kaduna residents through effective leadership and collaboration.
Abbas also dismissed attempts by individuals to create division between them, insisting that their partnership remains focused on delivering democratic dividends and promoting inclusive development across the state.
He noted that the office of the Speaker serves not only Zaria or Kaduna North Senatorial District but the entire state, reaffirming his commitment to fairness, inclusiveness and equitable distribution of government projects.
The Speaker further called on residents to continue supporting President Bola Tinubu's administration, stating that the President has demonstrated commitment to Kaduna State through policies and development initiatives aimed at improving the welfare of its people.
He also encouraged APC members to conduct their political activities peacefully, avoid bitterness and place the unity and stability of the party above personal interests.
Abbas reaffirmed his dedication to implementing people-focused programmes that will improve livelihoods, boost agricultural productivity and accelerate socio-economic development across Kaduna State, particularly within his constituency.
