A LOUISVILLE, KENTUCKY JURY, AWARDED A GRIEVING MOTHER A HISTORIC SETTLEMENT AFTER HER 18-YEAR-OLD SON ENDED HIS LIFE WITH A 'GHOST GUN' HE PURCHASED ONLINE.(PHOTO).

A Louisville, Kentucky jury, awarded a grieving mother a historic settlement after her 18-year-old son ended his life with a 'ghost gun' he purchased online.

The family of Henry Willis was awarded 104 million dollars by a Louisville, Kentucky jury on Wednesday, July 15th.

The lawsuit had been brought again Husky Armory LLC and its parent company by  Henry's mother, Laura Herp.

The suit alleged the company had not verified her son Henry Willis's age, or did any kind of background check before selling him a 'ghost gun kit' online. These weapons are made at home and are untraceable due to lacking any sort of serial number.

Henry had been living with mental struggles leading up to the purchase. After receiving the kit through the mail on July 24th, 2023, Henry assembled it and used it to end his life just 6 days later.

This  verdict is the largest awarded against a firearm company to date.

Laura hopes that her son's story and the ultimate verdict in the case will raise awareness about how easy these guns are to obtain and the tragedy they can leave behind.
