 Trump announces Hamas disarmament and Israeli troop withdrawal agreement under Gaza ceasefire plan   President Donald Trump announced Thursday that Hamas has agreed to a plan to disarm and that Israel will withdraw its forces from Gaza as part of a U.S.-backed ceasefire framework. Trump described the agreement as a major step toward creating a new Palestinian government in Gaza that would work with the newly established Board of Peace to oversee the next stages of the plan. The president said the agreement would also provide Israel with increased security by preventing Gaza from being used as a launching point for future attacks. Details of the agreement were limited, and neither Israel nor Hamas immediately released statements responding to Trump’s announcement.   The Ogun State Commissioner for Health, Dr. Tomi Coker has called on government at all levels to vigorously fight prostate cancer, which has claimed lives of numerous men in the country. Coker, who stated this when she joined the Ogun State Deputy Governor, Engr. Noimot Salako-Oyedele at the ground-breaking ceremony of Rotary Prostate Cancer Center in Olabisi Onabanjo University Teaching Hospital ( OOUTH), Sagamu, Ogun State, said approximately one in every 500 men come down with prostate cancer. She described the disease as a menace which is the most common in Nigerian men, saying late detection and treatment are responsible for the fatalities from the scourge.   The Managing Director/CEO, Lagos Waste Management Authority (LAWMA), Mr. Ibrahim Odumboni has debunked the claim contained in a viral video on social media alleging that some faceless street sweepers are being owed three months' salaries by the Agency. Odumboni stated emphatically that the allegation is totally untrue and fabricated, stressing that no sweeper in the service of the State government is being owed any salary as all the LAWMA contractors had been fully paid to date. In his words: “There is no truth whatsoever in the content of the video, it is complete falsehood and the Authority wants to make it categorically clear that the welfare of our sweepers is paramount; we will stop at nothing to ensure that they are adequately taken care of”.   Having completed the third segment of the ongoing rehabilitation works along Ketu-Mile 12 corridor of Ikorodu Road, the Lagos State Government will be closing down the section that covers NNPC fuel station by Anibaba Street and Mile-12 Bridge for the commencement of the fourth segment of the construction works for 20 days. A statement issued on Tuesday by the Honourable Commissioner for Transportation, Dr. Frederic Oladeinde noted that the rehabilitation works which will commence on Wednesday, 11th November 2020, will be geared towards changing the present surface to a Reinforced Continuous Concrete Pavement, (RCCP). The Commissioner disclosed that adequate traffic diversion plans and alternative routes have been suggested for motorists and road users during the construction period.
