  Earl Simmons, known by his stage name DMX, was an American rapper, songwriter, and actor. He began rapping in the early 1990s and released his debut album It's Dark and Hell Is Hot in 1998, to both critical acclaim and commercial success, selling 251,000 copies within its first week of release,has died. He was 50 years old. The inimitable rap icon was hospitalized after suffering an apparent drug overdose and subsequent heart attack on Friday, April 2  at his home in White Plains, New York.   Nigerian Army (NA) troops operating in Benue State came under attack while on routine operational task. The troops comprising one officer and ten soldiers were initially declared missing which prompted the deployment of a joint search and rescue team comprising NA troops and personnel of Operation Whirl Stroke. The search and rescue team unfortunately found all the missing troops dead in Konshisha LGA of Benue State. While the bodies of the slain troops were evacuated immediately, efforts are ongoing to track down the perpetrators of this heinous crime with a view to bringing them to Justice. The NA under the leadership of the COAS Lt Gen Ibrahim Attahiru remains resolute in ensuring stability in Benue State as well as other parts of the country that are affected by the activities of criminal gangs.   Yobe Governor, Mai Mala Buni has approved the appointment of 48 midwives, in addition to the 200 midwives he earlier absorbed into the service of the state. The Executive Governor of Yobe State H.E Hon Mai Mala Buni have approved the employment of fourty eight (48) Midwifery graduates as Community Midwives on CONHESS 2/1 by their respective Local Governments.

  Justice Peter Kekemeke of the Federal Capital Territory High Court, Nyanya Abuja on Wednesday, March 31, 2021 convicted and sentenced one internet fraudster, Farouk Olamilekan to three months in prison. The defendant who was prosecuted by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC, was convicted after he pleaded guilty to one count of computer-related fraud and cheating. His trouble began when the Commission, acting on intelligence report, raided the fraudster’s ‘Academy’ where young boys are being taught the tricks of fraud. He was arrested on January 29, 2021 in the Mpape Area of the Federal Capital Territory. Based on his guilty plea, counsel to the EFCC, Adeola Olanrewaju, urged the court to convict and sentence the defendant accordingly. However, counsel to the defendant, prayed the Court to temper justice with mercy as his client was a first-time offender.   I specially appreciate the Tiv Traditional Council led by the Tor Tiv, Professor James Ayatse for the Chieftancy Title and honour given to me, my wife and my collegue Governors of Sokoto, Nasarawa and Enugu states for our support to the state especially in her trying moments. Nigeria now more than ever needs such handshakes across our sub national units as no one is safe until we are all safe and no one can truely be happy until we are all happy. Gestures like this goes a long way to build a united and harmonious Nation with strong bonds of love and friendship among our component units. I also congratulate the people of Benue State as we participated in the commisioning of the Shaahu Road in Gboko Town, Aper Aku Road, Prof. Martin Dent Road, and a new Palace built for the the Tor Tiv by the Benue State Government.More photos below.

  It is with deep sorrow that Her Majesty The Queen has announced the death of her beloved husband, His Royal Highness The Prince Philip, Duke of Edinburgh. His Royal Highness passed away peacefully this morning at Windsor Castle. The Royal Family join with people around the world in mourning his loss. He died at the age of 99 years.He was born 10th of June 1921 in Mon Repos, Corfu, Greece. May his soul rest in peace,Amen.
