 NDLEA dismantles Abuja drug bunks, arrests 132, recovers 220kg illicit substances  -Marwa hails operation, vows to sustain crackdown in FCT, other states  In a non-stop two-week offensive action against traffickers and dealers, operatives of the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) have successfully dismantled several drug joints and bunks within and around the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) Abuja where a total of 132 suspects were arrested and 220 kilograms of assorted illicit substances recovered. The wel-coordinated raids jointly conducted by the Agency's Directorate of Operations and General Investigation (DOGI) and the FCT Strategic Command from llth to 25th April 2026 were launched to dismantle illicit drug hubs contributing to substance abuse, trafficking, and associated criminal activities in the capital city after weeks of intelligence and surveillance across all identified hotspots. MORE THAN 25 DEAD AS BOKO HARAM ATTACKS YOBE STATE.

REUTERS/Boko Haram handout via Reuters TV                         According to sources,Boko haram gunmen attacked a Nigerian military base adjacent to a police barracls simultaneously in the northeastern town of Buni Yadi,killing at least 25 security personel.The attack occured late on monday in Yobe state.The attack occured not far from where the islamist insurgents shot or burned to death 59 pupils at a boarding school in February.The eye witness Mustafa said the militants arrived in an armored personnel  carrier and six toyota Hilux pickup trucks before dismounting and firing into the air.They fired rocket propelled grenade at both bases.At least 11 soldiers,14 police officers,including a female officer,were killed.The security source in Yobe state said 17 soldiers may have actually died.Yobe state police spokeman Nansak Chequam said he knew of the attack but that the details were sketchy.Cameroon also deployed 1,000 troops today and armoured vehicles to it's border region with Nigeria as it steps up its military presence to counter any arising threat from boko haram.
