Catholic priest reportedly klled in Kogi A Catholic priest, Rev. Fr. Samuel Opeyemi Oyetoro, has been reportedly killed by unknown assailants in Ajaokuta, Kogi State. According to reports, the priest was stabbed multiple times along Ajaokuta road on Wednesday, 29th July 2026. His body was found dumped at the roadside. Rev. Fr. Oyetoro was born in Egbe, Yagba West Local Government Area of Kogi State and a native of Ayetoro in Ijumu Local Government Area. Until his death, he served as a priest at St. Mary’s Catholic Church, Egbe. The full circumstances surrounding the incident are still unclear, and authorities are yet to issue a comprehensive official statement. According to the Spanish sea rescue services,who said four African migrants drowned and up to 35 people were missing after their boat sank in the Mediterranean in the early hours of yesterday thursday around 40 miles north of the Moroccan coast.Lifeguards pulled four bodies from the sea after they were spotted by a Colombian military helicopter helping in the search.Earlier,15 people including two women were rescued from the boat after it lost its bottom and sank.They were found clinging to the wreckage,sea rescued services said.One of those rescued said there had been 54 people in the boat..The Mediterranean between Morocco and Spain was a major route around 10 years ago for migrants from Africa trying to reach Europe,but numbers fell after Spain increased patrols.
