Terrifying new dashcam footage shows moment doomed NBC helicopter falls out of the sky The terrifying moment an NBC helicopter fell out of the sky and plunged into the ground near where an SUV had slammed into a Metro bus was caught on dashcam. The video, obtained by KTLA, shows the helicopter descending, caught from afar on the vehicle camera of Yera Valencia. She said: “I downloaded the video of my dashcam. It’s a little dot on the video. It’s a crisp video and it just goes down.” She added: “God, it’s so close, it could have happened to anyone. My parents walk down the street.” The two back-to-back Tuesday night crashes resulted in five deaths — two involving the bus and SUV, and three as a result of the chopper going down, killing reporter Eliana Moreno, pilot George Marciniw and pedestrian Edy Gutierrez Mejia.

       Governor Ibikunle Amosun of Ogun State has emphasised the need for all financial institutions in the country to follow due process in financial transactions for an improved economy.
Amosun, when receiving board members of the Nigeria Deposit Insurance Corporation (NDIC), in his office yesterday, said this will help boost the economy and elevate the status of citizens.
He commended the initiative of the board to establish its regional in the state, noting that majority of the banks are now opening their head offices in Ogun.
Chairman of the board, Mrs. Ronke Sokefun commended the governor for the giant strides of his administration, especially in the areas of infrastructure and the provision of adequate security, which she said has made the state conducive for investors.
The NDIC boss, who stated that the board is saddled with the effective supervision of banking deposits, solicited the support of the governor, who is returning to the Senate, to assist with in the amendment of the pending NDIC bill.
Amosun, who also received the newly elected executive members of the Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ), Ogun State chapter, charged them to work for the greater benefit of journalism.
The governor admonished the new leadership not to betray the confidence reposed in them by their members, while also assuring them of his support.
Highlighting some achievements of his administration, Amosun said they include moving the state up to fourth position from 36th in the ease of doing business, second from the 27th position in Internally Generated Revenue (IGR) as well as improved security and infrastructure.
In his remarks, the union's chairman, Comrade Soji Amosu, appreciated the governor for transforming Ogun into an enviable state and the elevation of some journalists to the position of permanent secretaries and heads of parastatals.
Commending the governor for ensuring a robust security in the state, the chairman said before 2011, citizens could not sleep with their two eyes closed.
He stated that no governor has been able to beat his records in terms of support to the union and journalists in the state.More photos below.
