 Anambra to go after houses without proper drainage in order to combat Erosion  Worried by the rising menace of gully erosion, the Anambra State Government has threatened to enforce regulations requiring residents to provide proper drainage for storm water from their homes. The State Executive Council (ANSEC), which announced the proposed enforcement, lamented that erosion remains an existential challenge in Anambra, blaming the situation on careless actions by some communities and lapses by regulatory bodies in enforcing environmental laws. Briefing journalists after the weekly executive council meeting, the Commissioner for Information, Dr. Law Mefor, said it had been observed that some residents channel storm water from their homes directly onto roads, where it accumulates and worsens the erosion crisis across the state. “ANSEC has resolved to step up enforcement to compel residents to properly channel and manage storm water from their houses.      Today being Friday 15/5/2020 a Philantropist Mr Osita Reuben Agina(OYINATUMBA) of Oba in Idemili South LGA of Anambra State donated two L300 Mitsubishi buses to the Special Anti-Cultism Squad(SPACS) of the Anambra State Police Command as part of his social responsibility to support the Police in it's fight against cultism in the State.
Responding on behalf of the Commissioner of Police *CP John B.Abang,fdc* during a brief Ceremony at the State Command headquarters Awka,the Deputy Commissioner of Police in charge of Administration, DCP Chris Owolabi thanked the philanthropist for donating the buses to Command and also extended the appreciation of *the Inspector-general of Police IGP Mohammed Abubakar Adamu,NPM,mni* The CP further assured the
donor that the buses would be judiciously utilised for the purpose they were meant for and urged other well meaning individuals to emulate this gesture in order to enhance safety and Security in the State.
