 Press Release: Every Hisbah Officer Is a Peace and Security Ambassador in His Community. Kano State Governor Alh.Abba Kabir Yusuf has reaffirmed the determination of his administration to ensure security and peace  for the protection of lives and property across the state. The Governor, represented by the Commissioner for Religious Affairs, Sheikh Ahmad Tijjani Sani Auwal, made the commitment during a stakeholders meeting on the contribution of shari'a sector institutions toward promoting peace and security in Kano State. The meeting was organized by the Kano State Hisbah Board and held at the Coronation hall Government House, Kano. He emphasized that security is a collective responsibility and urged the Hisbah Board to focus more on providing intelligence reports to conventional security agencies, rather than limiting efforts to moral enforcement alone. POLICE PRESS RELEASE, LAGOS STATE COMMAND, DATED 8TH JULY, 2021

AIYE CONFRATERNITY 7/7 CELEBRATION: LAGOS POLICE ARREST 4, RECOVER WEAPONS AS POLICE GO TOUGH ON SUSPECTED CULTISTS

In furtherance of the command's repeated warnings against the Neo Black Movement of Africa, aka Black Axe 7/7 annual celebration, slated for 7th July, 2021, the police operatives attached to Area "J", Ajah and Ogombo Division of the Lagos arrested 4 suspected members of Aiye Confraternity on 7th July, 2021.
The operatives attached to Area J, Ajah, while on routine Stop and Search, arrested two suspected cultists: Michael Abejoye, m, 23, and Olalekan Quasim, m, 43 at Eleko Junction, Ajah Area at 1.30pm, with the regalia of Aiye Confraternity.

Similarly, the police operatives attached to Ogombo Division, arrested two (2) suspected Aiye Confraternity members one Andoh Emmanuel Kolawole, m, 25 and Oluwasegun Destiny, m, 28, on 8th July, 202, at 6.30am, in Ogombo Area of Lagos State.
Items recovered from them include one locally-made double barrel short gun, seven (7) live cartridges, one expended cartridge and some regalia of the Aiye Confraternity.

The Commissioner of Police, Lagos State, CP Hakeem Odumosu, has ordered that the suspects be transferred to the Command's Strike Team, Ikeja, for proper investigation and possible prosecution, while he reiterated the command's commitment to sustain its fight against cultism and other forms of criminality in Lagos State.
