 Terrorists, banditry activities in Northwest have reduced – Shehu Sani Shehu Sani, a former Kaduna Central Senator, has disclosed a decrease in the activities of terrorists and bandits in the Northwest. Sani said the recent killings of some top terrorists’ leaders could have been responsible for the decrease. Posting on X, the former lawmaker wrote: “In the last few weeks, there is a noticeable decrease in terrorist and banditry attacks and kidnappings in the North Western parts of this country. “The elimination of some of the top terrorist leaders must have been responsible.This is commendable and should be sustained.” In the past weeks, notable bandit leaders have been killed in the North. Those eliminated include- Haliru Kachalla Sububu or Buzu, Kachalla Tukur Sharme (killed by rival gang), Sani Black, another prominent bandit leader, killed along with his brother and two children, Kachalla Makore, Kachalla Mai Shayi Kachalla Tsoho Lulu and Mai’Yar Gitta. POLICE PRESS RELEASE, LAGOS STATE COMMAND, DATED 8TH JULY, 2021

AIYE CONFRATERNITY 7/7 CELEBRATION: LAGOS POLICE ARREST 4, RECOVER WEAPONS AS POLICE GO TOUGH ON SUSPECTED CULTISTS

In furtherance of the command's repeated warnings against the Neo Black Movement of Africa, aka Black Axe 7/7 annual celebration, slated for 7th July, 2021, the police operatives attached to Area "J", Ajah and Ogombo Division of the Lagos arrested 4 suspected members of Aiye Confraternity on 7th July, 2021.
The operatives attached to Area J, Ajah, while on routine Stop and Search, arrested two suspected cultists: Michael Abejoye, m, 23, and Olalekan Quasim, m, 43 at Eleko Junction, Ajah Area at 1.30pm, with the regalia of Aiye Confraternity.

Similarly, the police operatives attached to Ogombo Division, arrested two (2) suspected Aiye Confraternity members one Andoh Emmanuel Kolawole, m, 25 and Oluwasegun Destiny, m, 28, on 8th July, 202, at 6.30am, in Ogombo Area of Lagos State.
Items recovered from them include one locally-made double barrel short gun, seven (7) live cartridges, one expended cartridge and some regalia of the Aiye Confraternity.

The Commissioner of Police, Lagos State, CP Hakeem Odumosu, has ordered that the suspects be transferred to the Command's Strike Team, Ikeja, for proper investigation and possible prosecution, while he reiterated the command's commitment to sustain its fight against cultism and other forms of criminality in Lagos State.
