 Catholic priest reportedly klled in Kogi  A Catholic priest, Rev. Fr. Samuel Opeyemi Oyetoro, has been reportedly killed by unknown assailants in Ajaokuta, Kogi State. According to reports, the priest was stabbed multiple times along Ajaokuta road on Wednesday, 29th July 2026. His body was found dumped at the roadside.  Rev. Fr. Oyetoro was born in Egbe, Yagba West Local Government Area of Kogi State and a native of Ayetoro in Ijumu Local Government Area.  Until his death, he served as a priest at St. Mary’s Catholic Church, Egbe. POLICE PRESS RELEASE, LAGOS STATE COMMAND, DATED 8TH JULY, 2021

AIYE CONFRATERNITY 7/7 CELEBRATION: LAGOS POLICE ARREST 4, RECOVER WEAPONS AS POLICE GO TOUGH ON SUSPECTED CULTISTS

In furtherance of the command's repeated warnings against the Neo Black Movement of Africa, aka Black Axe 7/7 annual celebration, slated for 7th July, 2021, the police operatives attached to Area "J", Ajah and Ogombo Division of the Lagos arrested 4 suspected members of Aiye Confraternity on 7th July, 2021.
The operatives attached to Area J, Ajah, while on routine Stop and Search, arrested two suspected cultists: Michael Abejoye, m, 23, and Olalekan Quasim, m, 43 at Eleko Junction, Ajah Area at 1.30pm, with the regalia of Aiye Confraternity.

Similarly, the police operatives attached to Ogombo Division, arrested two (2) suspected Aiye Confraternity members one Andoh Emmanuel Kolawole, m, 25 and Oluwasegun Destiny, m, 28, on 8th July, 202, at 6.30am, in Ogombo Area of Lagos State.
Items recovered from them include one locally-made double barrel short gun, seven (7) live cartridges, one expended cartridge and some regalia of the Aiye Confraternity.

The Commissioner of Police, Lagos State, CP Hakeem Odumosu, has ordered that the suspects be transferred to the Command's Strike Team, Ikeja, for proper investigation and possible prosecution, while he reiterated the command's commitment to sustain its fight against cultism and other forms of criminality in Lagos State.
