 Australian police say Islamic State inspired Bondi Beach mass shooting  Australian authorities have declared that the mass shooting which killed 15 people during a Hanukkah celebration at Sydney’s Bondi Beach was a terrorist attack inspired by the Islamic State group. Federal Police Commissioner Krissy Barrett said investigators reached that conclusion based on evidence recovered during the investigation. Officials identified the suspects as a father and son, aged 50 and 24. The older man, Sajid Akram, was shot and killed by police at the scene, while his son remains hospitalized under guard. Prime Minister Anthony Albanese said investigators found Islamic State flags inside a vehicle linked to the attackers, reinforcing concerns that the violence was ideologically motivated. Of the dozens wounded in the attack, 25 people remain hospitalized, including 10 in critical condition. Three of the injured are children receiving care at a pediatric hospital. Some Killings In Sokoto Are Not Being Reported — Sultan


 

The Sultan of Sokoto, Alhaji Sa’ad Abubakar, has said there are ongoing killings in the state that are not reported.


The monarch said this at the third Quarter 2021 Meeting of the Intra-Religious Council, held in Abuja on Thursday.


The Sultan noted that the security situation in the country has deteriorated, and vowed to keep on speaking the truth to power.


He said, “In Sokoto alone, there was a day we buried 76 people, they were killed in cold blood by criminals, people don’t hear about that one, there was a day we buried 48 people in the same Sokoto, but we don’t hear about that one.


“All the people committing these atrocities must be identified, our security agencies must up their game, identify them, and take action on them, whether he is a religious leader or an ethnic leader.”
