COAS COMMISSIONS CIMIC PROJECTS IN MALUMFASHI KATSINA STATE, REAFFIRM COMMITMENT TO SUSTAINED CIVIL-MILITARY COOPERATION PROJECTS



The Chief of Army Staff (COAS), Lieutenant General Faruk Yahaya has reaffirmed his commitment to sustaining the Special Intervention Civil Military Cooperation Projects across the country. This he noted on Tuesday 13 June 2023 while commissioning the newly constructed 4 blocks of classrooms at Government Day Secondary School and Renovation of the School's Assembly Hall as well as the provision of 100 extra classroom chairs and 2000 copies of exercise books undertaken by the NA in Malumfashi, Katsina State.


The COAS noted that, the Nigerian Army  has in recent times embarked on elaborate quick impact projects in several communities across the country  with  a view to providing the desired succor succor in their areas of need and further strengthen our relationship with the people in the beneficial communities. This has over time significantly contributed to the Nigerian Army’s efforts at containing the multifaceted security challenges facing the Nation particularly through the non-kinetic approach.


The COAS appreciated the Project Executor Major General Sani Gambo Mohammed Chief of Training (Army) for a Job well done. He also urged the good people of Malumfashi to continue to be law abiding and always provide useful information to the Nigerian Army and other security agencies in order to provide the required safe and secured environment for socio-economic activities to thrive.  


The COAS further urged the Principal, staff and students of Government Day Secondary School Malumfashi to properly utilize and maintain the facilities commissioned in order to enhance the quality of education in the school. 


Earlier In his welcome remarks,  the Project Executor Maj General SG Mohammed thanked the COAS for the approval of funds and support in the execution of the project in honour of his Community. He further stated that the facilities will go a long way in improving the standards of Education in Malumfashi.


Highpoints of the occasion were the commissioning of the projects,  Dance Drama and Speech presentation by the Students of Government Day Secondary School Malumfashi,  presentation of souvenirs to dignitaries.
