 Kebbi Govt Donates 10 Hilux Vehicles to Boost Security on Sokoto–Badagry Super Highway  The Kebbi State Government has handed over 10 brand-new Hilux vehicles to the Federal Ministry of Works to strengthen security for personnel working on the Sokoto–Badagry Super Highway project. The vehicles were formally received by the Minister of State for Works, Bello Muhammad Goronyo, who praised Kebbi State Governor, Dr. Nasiru Idris (Kauran Gwandu), for the donation. Goronyo described the gesture as a clear demonstration of the state government’s commitment to protecting workers and contractors on the strategic highway corridor. He explained that the vehicles will be deployed exclusively to security operatives providing cover for construction teams along the section of the super highway passing through Kebbi State. FG Appoints CMDs For Federal Medical Centres

Federal Government has appointed 11 new Medical Directors for the Federal Government established Medical Facilities in the Country.

This was made known in a statement by the Director of Press & Public Relations, Federal Ministry of Information and National Orientation, Patricia Deworitshe.

The new CMDs are Prof Nyandanti Yakub Wilberforce – MD, FMC, Hong, Adamawa State, Prof Issa Baba Awoye – MD, Federal Neuropsychiatric Hospital, Buddo-Egba, Kwara State, Dr Umar Faruk Abdumajid – MD, FMC Daura, Katsina State, Dr Muhammad Shittu Adamu – MD, FMC, Wase, Plateau and Prof Shuaibu Jauro Yahya – MD, FMC, Mubi, Adamawa State.

Others are Dr Mercy Anugwu – MD, FMC, Onitsha, Anambra State, Prof Auwalu Sani Salihu– FNPH Dawanau Kano State, Prof Rufai Ahmed – Registrar/ CEO, Medical Rehabilitation Therapists Board of Nigeria, Prof Mangwa J. Kortar – MD, FMC, Makurdi, Benue State, Prof Robinson Chukwudi Onoh CMD, Alex Ekwueme, Federal University Teaching Hospital, Abakiliki, Ebonyi State, Dr Nurudeen Isa – MD, National Orthopaedic Hospital, Dala, Kano State.

Presenting letters of appointment for an initial Four-year tenure with effect from 1st August, 2023 to the new CMDs recently in Abuja, Kachollom Daju, Permanent Secretary, Federal Ministry of Health urged them to collaborate with all stakeholders and explore all necessary avenues to provide a conducive work environment and Infrastructure aimed at achieving high standard health care.

According to her, “it may be challenging but there is no challenge that is unsurmountable and your appointment is an indication of the confidence that Federal Government reposed on you”.

Also, Dr Anuma Ogbonnaya, Director, Regulatory and Professional Schools, FMOH urged the appointees to work hard, operate an open-door policy and carry everybody along.

He also told them to ensure that the health facilities are upgraded and function optimally to deliver evidence, based on medical care to the teeming population of Nigeria.
