 𝐁𝐮𝐡𝐚𝐫𝐢, 𝐀𝐛𝐛𝐚𝐬, 𝐀𝐤𝐮𝐦𝐞, 𝐎𝐭𝐡𝐞𝐫𝐬 𝐀𝐦𝐨𝐧𝐠 𝐚𝐬 𝐖𝐢𝐤𝐞 𝐑𝐞𝐯𝐨𝐤𝐞𝐬 𝐀𝐥𝐥𝐨𝐜𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧 𝐨𝐟 𝟕𝟔𝟐 𝐅𝐂𝐓 𝐋𝐚𝐧𝐝𝐨𝐰𝐧𝐞𝐫𝐬 Nyesom Wike, the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, has revoked the lands allocated to several prominent Nigerians, including former President Muhammadu Buhari, Speaker of the House of Representatives Tajudeen Abbas, and Secretary to the Government of the Federation George Akume, due to non-payment of Certificate of Occupancy fees. Also, 759 other prominent figures and organisations in Maitama II, Abuja. were also affected by the revocation which was for non-payment of Certificate of Occupancy. WE'LL FOCUS MORE ON LINK ROADS IN 2024 – WORKS COMMISSIONER


Ogun State Commissioner for Works and Infrastructure, Engr. Ade Akinsanya has assured that the ministry will embark more on the construction of state link roads in 2024 in response to the directive of the State Governor, Prince Dapo Abiodun.

 Engr. Akinsanya stated this while speaking at the Treasury Board Meeting on Year 2024-2026 Medium Term Expenditure Framework (MTEF) and the 2024 Budget, held at Obas' Complex, Oke-Mosan, Abeokuta.

The Commissioner said the Governor, Prince Dapo Abiodun has directed his Ministry to focus on the roads that connected the State to neighbouring Lagos and other States, listing such roads as Ota, Ijoko, Lanbe, Akute, Lafenwa, among others, adding that all ongoing road projects in the three senatorial districts, as well as the Agro Cargo Airport, Isiun- Owode road, Sagamu/Iperu to Sapaade and Atan, Lusada, Agbara, roads would be deliver in due course.

The Commissioner assured the citizens that their expectations of good roads would be met, adding that proper budget consideration has been made for provision of standard road infrastructure by the State Government.

Engr. Akinsanya stated that all the 20 Local Government Chairmen have been directed to submit the list of some roads to be rehabilitated in their various Councils, to ensure no council is left out on the provision of road infrastructure.

  SSANU, NASU threaten strike over withheld salaries The Joint Action Committee of the Senior Staff Association of Nigerian Universities and the Non-Academic Staff Union of Educational and Associated Institutions have threatened to disrupt industrial peace in universities should the government fail to release the withheld salaries of members. The salaries were seized by the administration of former President Muhammadu Buhari during their strike in 2022. The unions, in a joint letter signed on Friday by the President of SSANU, Muhammed Ibrahim and General Secretary of NASU, Peters Adeyemi, questioned the rationale with which the government released four months withheld salaries to members of the Academic Staff Union of Universities but failed to release the withheld salaries of non-academic staff.
