 Dolly Parton returns to public eye to celebrate opening day at Dollywood     Dolly Parton made her first public appearance in months to celebrate the opening day of Dollywood in Pigeon Forge, Tennessee, on Friday. The country music icon reflected on the past year, a year after the death of her husband of nearly 60 years, Carl Dean, saying she is “doing good” and has been working to rebuild herself spiritually, emotionally, and physically after grieving and dealing with health issues that kept her from touring. Joined on stage by Dollywood president Eugene Naughton, Parton brought her trademark humor to the crowd, joking about rumors of a new husband while reaffirming her devotion to Dean. She also shared updates on her ongoing projects, including a new Broadway musical and her Dolly’s Life of Many Colors Museum in Nashville.  TROOPS AVERT TERRORISTS' ATTACK IN SOKOTO, NEUTRALIZE 7, RECOVER ARMS



Nigerian Army troops deployed for Counter-terrorism operations in North West region in conjunction with a team from the  Department of State Services (DSS) in a swift and coordinated effort to avert a potential disaster to save lives in Sokoto State, responded to a distress call, which resulted in the interception of an armed terrorists' group on rampage to wreak havoc in Modachi general area of Isa Local Government Area of Sokoto State. 


The joint operation  led to the elimination of some of the terrorists and the recovery of a significant cache of arms. The terrorists, who were in transit with several motorbikes, were met with strong resistance from the security forces, leading to the elimination of 7 terrorists. The troops also recovered seven AK-47 rifles, four motorbikes, two mobile phones, and four machetes.


The successful operation is a testament to the dedication of the security forces in combating terrorism and restoring peace in troubled regions. The swift and  decisive response by the troops and the DSS team undoubtedly averted a potential disaster and saved several lives in Sokoto State.
