 NDLEA dismantles Abuja drug bunks, arrests 132, recovers 220kg illicit substances  -Marwa hails operation, vows to sustain crackdown in FCT, other states  In a non-stop two-week offensive action against traffickers and dealers, operatives of the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) have successfully dismantled several drug joints and bunks within and around the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) Abuja where a total of 132 suspects were arrested and 220 kilograms of assorted illicit substances recovered. The wel-coordinated raids jointly conducted by the Agency's Directorate of Operations and General Investigation (DOGI) and the FCT Strategic Command from llth to 25th April 2026 were launched to dismantle illicit drug hubs contributing to substance abuse, trafficking, and associated criminal activities in the capital city after weeks of intelligence and surveillance across all identified hotspots.  GOVERNOR UZODIMMA RECEIVES  COUNCIL OF SOUTHERN TRADITIONAL RULERS 



Governor Hope Uzodimma of Imo State warmly welcomed the Council of southern traditional rulers in a historic meeting aimed at fostering unity and addressing regional issues. The gathering which held at the Imo State Governor’s Lodge in Abuja, saw the convergence of prominent monarchs from across the southern states, marking a significant step towards collaborative governance and cultural preservation.


In his address, Governor Uzodimma emphasized the importance of traditional institutions in maintaining societal values and promoting peace. He acknowledged the critical role of the monarchs in mediating conflicts and supporting development initiatives within their communities.


The traditional rulers, led by the Chairman of the Southern Traditional Rulers Council, His Royal Majesty, Oba Adeyeye Enitan Ogunwusi, the Ooni of Ife, expressed their appreciation for Governor Uzodimma’s inclusive approach and dedication to regional progress.


The meeting concluded with a communal resolution to strengthen the ties between the government and traditional institutions, paving the way for a more united and prosperous southern Nigeria.
