 Catholic priest reportedly klled in Kogi  A Catholic priest, Rev. Fr. Samuel Opeyemi Oyetoro, has been reportedly killed by unknown assailants in Ajaokuta, Kogi State. According to reports, the priest was stabbed multiple times along Ajaokuta road on Wednesday, 29th July 2026. His body was found dumped at the roadside.  Rev. Fr. Oyetoro was born in Egbe, Yagba West Local Government Area of Kogi State and a native of Ayetoro in Ijumu Local Government Area.  Until his death, he served as a priest at St. Mary’s Catholic Church, Egbe.  Trump’s conviction: ‘I may apply for restoration of my US green card’ – Soyinka


Nobel Laureate Professor Wole Soyinka has expressed interest in applying for the restoration of his permanent residency in the United States.

Soyinka made the remark in reaction to the conviction of former US President, Donald Trump.

In 2016, Soyinka destroyed his US green card after Trump won the presidency.

On Thursday, Trump was convicted on each of the 34 charges of falsifying business records to hide a payment meant to silence porn star Stormy Daniels.

However, Soyinka said he may apply for his green card, considering the initial attention his earlier action got.
