 Kebbi Govt Donates 10 Hilux Vehicles to Boost Security on Sokoto–Badagry Super Highway  The Kebbi State Government has handed over 10 brand-new Hilux vehicles to the Federal Ministry of Works to strengthen security for personnel working on the Sokoto–Badagry Super Highway project. The vehicles were formally received by the Minister of State for Works, Bello Muhammad Goronyo, who praised Kebbi State Governor, Dr. Nasiru Idris (Kauran Gwandu), for the donation. Goronyo described the gesture as a clear demonstration of the state government’s commitment to protecting workers and contractors on the strategic highway corridor. He explained that the vehicles will be deployed exclusively to security operatives providing cover for construction teams along the section of the super highway passing through Kebbi State.  LAGOS TASKFORCE CLEARS SHANTIES IN AGUNGI, LEKKI


In a bid to restore sanity and decorum across various parts of the Metropolis in line with the THEMES PLUS Agenda of the State Government, the Lagos State Taskforce has removed all shanties, makeshift buildings and illegal structures on Agungi Ajiran Road, Lekki, in an intense operation carried out today. 


Speaking at the scene of the clearing out exercise, the Chairman of the Agency, CSP Adetayo Akerele stated that the occupants of all illegal structures in the area had been warned severally and were even served eviction notices 2 weeks ago but decided to remain at the location. 


“Over the years, residents have raised complaints about the increasing activities within the shanties, which contributed to envitonmental degradation, posed security risk, and disruption of neihhbourhood decorum. Despite several notices served to the occupants, they still remained defiant and refused to vacate the area.”


He stated that the illegal structures not only deface the well planned out residential area but also goes against the Physical Planning programmes of State Government along Lekki-Epe axis.


“Their continued presence here has becomes a serious cause for concern thats why our efforts demonstrate the State Government’s commitment to ensuring residential areas remain safe and habitable.” Akerele stated.


The Chairman assured Lagosians that the exercise is going to be continous as more shanties scatterred along other parts of Lekki axis have been served removal notices. He appealed to the occupants to vacate the shanties and pull down any form of illegal structures in those area or risk having them forcefully demolished by the Agency. 


“I admonish residents to report suspicious activities to the Agency though our feedback channels to enable us put a stop to this irregularities that have been spread overtime. If you see something, say something.” He concluded.
