 Catholic priest reportedly klled in Kogi  A Catholic priest, Rev. Fr. Samuel Opeyemi Oyetoro, has been reportedly killed by unknown assailants in Ajaokuta, Kogi State. According to reports, the priest was stabbed multiple times along Ajaokuta road on Wednesday, 29th July 2026. His body was found dumped at the roadside.  Rev. Fr. Oyetoro was born in Egbe, Yagba West Local Government Area of Kogi State and a native of Ayetoro in Ijumu Local Government Area.  Until his death, he served as a priest at St. Mary’s Catholic Church, Egbe.  Many weapons used by terrorists, bandits originally belonged to govt – Nuhu Ribadu


The National Security Adviser, NSA, Mallam Nuhu Ribadu, has stated that a significant number of illicit weapons currently in circulation in Nigeria originally belonged to the Federal Government.


Ribadu stated this on Thursday, during the arms destruction exercise conducted by the National Centre for the Control of Small Arms and Light Weapons (NCCSALW) at Muhammadu Buhari Cantonment in Abuja.


He explained that the weapons ended up in the hands of non-state actors due to corrupt elements within the security agencies.


The NSA condemned security personnel who facilitate the distribution of weapons to terrorists, bandits and other non-state actors.


He assured that the government will do everything possible to ensure the country’s security.
