 Dolly Parton returns to public eye to celebrate opening day at Dollywood     Dolly Parton made her first public appearance in months to celebrate the opening day of Dollywood in Pigeon Forge, Tennessee, on Friday. The country music icon reflected on the past year, a year after the death of her husband of nearly 60 years, Carl Dean, saying she is “doing good” and has been working to rebuild herself spiritually, emotionally, and physically after grieving and dealing with health issues that kept her from touring. Joined on stage by Dollywood president Eugene Naughton, Parton brought her trademark humor to the crowd, joking about rumors of a new husband while reaffirming her devotion to Dean. She also shared updates on her ongoing projects, including a new Broadway musical and her Dolly’s Life of Many Colors Museum in Nashville.  Fintiri Appoints Emirs for Newly Created Emirates in Adamawa


Governor Ahmadu Fintiri of Adamawa State has appointed emirs and chiefs for the seven newly established emirates. According to the governor’s spokesperson, Humwashi Wonosikou, the appointments were made based on merit and the popularity of the selected individuals.  


The appointments follow the passage of the “Adamawa State Chiefs (Appointment and Deposition) and Matters Incidental Thereto” law by the State House of Assembly on December 10, 2024, and its subsequent signing into law by Governor Fintiri on December 16. This legislation empowers the governor to create new emirates and depose incapacitated traditional rulers.  


The newly appointed traditional rulers are:  

- HRH Alhaji Sani Ahmadu Ribadu: Emir of Fufore  

- HRH Barrister Alheri B. Nyako: Tol Huba  

- HRH Prof. Bulus Luka Gadiga: Mbege Ka Michika  

- HRH Dr. Ali Danburam: Ptil Madagali  

- HRH Aggrey Ali: Kumu of Gombi  

- HRH Ahmadu Saibaru: Emir of Maiha  

- HRH John Dio: Gubo Yungur  


Governor Fintiri congratulated the new leaders and urged them to uphold fairness, honesty, and responsibility in their roles. The appointments take immediate effect.
