INEC Assures Nigerians Every Valid Vote Will Count in 2027 Elections The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has assured Nigerians that every valid vote will count in the 2027 general elections, pledging a credible process that reflects the will of the people. The assurance was given on Thursday by Dr Adejumo Peter, Head of Voter Education and Publicity at INEC Kwara State, during a seminar organised by the Correspondents’ Chapel of the Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ) in Ilorin. Dr Peter said the electoral body would strictly adhere to its rules and procedures to ensure free, fair and credible elections based on the principle of one person, one vote. “INEC in Kwara will follow the rules and procedures as laid down by our commission. We will ensure that the elections are done on a one-man, one-vote basis. At the end of the exercise, the outcome of the elections will reflect the will of the people,” he said.  ANAMBRA POLICE RESCUES SUSPECT FROM JUNGLE JUSTICE AFTER ALLEGED MURDER AND CONCEALMENT OF BODY PARTS IN A REFRIGERATOR AT OKPOKO.


The Anambra State Police Command Operatives attached to the Okpoko Division on 2nd September 2025 rescued a suspect from an attempted jungle justice after he was alleged to have murdered a 25-year old male and concealed the victim’s dismembered body inside a refrigerator at Okpoko. 


The suspect later identified as Leberechi, other names unknown, and about 30 years of age was already in an unconscious state before he was arrested. He was immediately rushed to the hospital for medical attention and is currently under armed guard to prevent escape. 


The Operatives visited the scene of the murder and discovered the decomposed body parts of the victim hidden inside a refrigerator. The remains were subsequently evacuated to a mortuary for preservation and autopsy.


The Commissioner of Police, Anambra State Command, CP Ikioye Orutugu fwc MNIPS PhD has directed immediate transfer of the Case to the State Criminal Investigation Department, Awka for a thorough investigation and to ensure that justice is served in accordance with the law.
