CJN Bans Lawyers, Court Officials to Stop Using ‘Barrister’ as Official Title The Chief Justice of Nigeria, Justice Kudirat Kekere-Ekun, has directed lawyers, court officials and other legal personnel to discontinue the use of “Barrister” as a prefix to their names in all official engagements at the Supreme Court. The directive was contained in a memorandum dated July 13, 2026, and signed by the Chief Registrar of the Supreme Court, Kabir Akanbi. The circular, which was addressed to litigation staff, legal practitioners, court registrars and lawyers, stated that the directive took immediate effect and was aimed at upholding professional standards within the apex court.  APC DISOWNS  TIMETABLE FOR CONGRESSES CIRCULATED ON SOCIAL MEDIA 


The ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) has distance itself from a widely circulated  “APC 2025 SCHEDULE OF NATIONWIDE CONGRESSES AND RELATED ACTIVITIES” on social media.


In a statement by Felix Morka, National Publicity Secretary All Progressives Congress (APC), says the circular  is false information, "Our great Party wishes to clarify that the purported  Schedule of Activities for Congresses was neither made nor authorized by the Party, and should be disregarded as FAKE NEWS." It concludes.
