Marilyn Manson's sexual assault case by former assistant reinstated under new California law A previously dismissed sexual assault case against Marilyn Manson, filed by former assistant Ashley Walters, was revived Monday in Los Angeles Superior Court under a new California law extending the statute of limitations for certain sexual abuse claims. Judge Steve Cochran granted Walters’ motion for reconsideration, vacating his December 2025 ruling that had dismissed the case and allowing it to proceed toward trial. The original suit, first filed in 2021, accused Manson, whose legal name is Brian Warner, of sexual harassment, sexual battery, intentional infliction of emotional distress, and wrongful termination based on her time working for him in 2010–2011.  Portland Trail Blazers coach Chauncey Billups charged in alleged Mafia-linked illegal poker operation

Portland Trail Blazers head coach Chauncey Billups has been charged in connection with an illegal poker operation linked to the Mafia, according to law enforcement sources. Billups, in his fifth season as head coach, was arrested in Oregon and is expected to make his initial court appearance Thursday. He coached Portland in their season opener on Wednesday, a loss to the Minnesota Timberwolves.

Billups, a five-time All-Star and 2004 NBA Finals MVP with the Detroit Pistons, retired in 2014 after a 17-year career in which he averaged 15.2 points and 5.4 assists per game. Miami Heat guard Terry Rozier is also facing charges in a related gambling case, one of six individuals accused of using inside information to run an illegal professional basketball betting operation. Rozier, now in his 11th NBA season and averaging 13.9 points over 665 games, did not play in his team’s season opener on Wednesday due to a hamstring injury. The FBI plans to announce the charges at a Thursday news conference in New York City. The case echoes a previous NBA scandal in which former Toronto Raptors forward Jontay Porter received a lifetime ban for betting on games and sharing confidential team information.
