Marilyn Manson's sexual assault case by former assistant reinstated under new California law A previously dismissed sexual assault case against Marilyn Manson, filed by former assistant Ashley Walters, was revived Monday in Los Angeles Superior Court under a new California law extending the statute of limitations for certain sexual abuse claims. Judge Steve Cochran granted Walters’ motion for reconsideration, vacating his December 2025 ruling that had dismissed the case and allowing it to proceed toward trial. The original suit, first filed in 2021, accused Manson, whose legal name is Brian Warner, of sexual harassment, sexual battery, intentional infliction of emotional distress, and wrongful termination based on her time working for him in 2010–2011.  US singer Chris Brown appears in UK court for latest assault hearing

U.S. singer Chris Brown made an unexpected appearance in a London court on Friday ahead of his trial next year over allegations of assaulting a music producer in a nightclub.

Brown, 36, has previously denied charges of attempting to inflict grievous bodily harm and a lesser charge of assault causing actual bodily harm, stemming from what prosecutors described as an “unprovoked attack” with a bottle in 2023. He appeared at Southwark Crown Court alongside co-defendant Omololu Akinlolu, 38, who has also denied the allegations. The trial is scheduled to begin in October 2026.

At the hearing, Brown spoke only to confirm his identity. The singer, a two-time Grammy Award winner known for hits like “Loyal,” “Run It,” and “Under the Influence,” was granted bail in May after paying 5 million pounds ($6.71 million) to continue his “Breezy Bowl XX” tour, which concluded this week. He had been arrested in Manchester, northern England, upon returning to the UK for the first time since the incident.
