PRES. TRUMP AWARDED INAUGURAL FIFA PEACE PRIZE AT WORLD CUP DRAW IN WASHINGTON . (PHOTOS).
The Prince and Princess of Wales have won a privacy case against a French magazine that published photos of them and their children during a skiing holiday. The images, taken in April on a trip to the French Alps, showed William, Kate, and their children George, Charlotte, and Louis on the slopes and on a chalet balcony.
A judge at the Nanterre Judicial Court ruled that the photographs and accompanying article violated the family’s right to privacy and their control over their own images. Kensington Palace described the publication as a “grossly intrusive article and long-lens paparazzi photographs” of the family’s private time. The palace emphasized that the couple is dedicated to protecting their children from undue scrutiny and will take legal action when necessary. While British media generally respect the children’s privacy in exchange for occasional authorized photos, international outlets have not always followed similar standards. William and Kate previously won damages from the French magazine Closer in 2012 after topless photos of Kate were published during a private holiday.
