Mary-Kate and Ashley Olsen step out in coordinated black looks for New York stroll Mary-Kate and Ashley Olsen made a rare joint appearance in New York City, stepping out together for a relaxed afternoon in matching, understated fashion. The 39-year-old twins were seen walking through Midtown Manhattan on April 30, dressed in coordinated black trench coats paired with wide-leg denim. They completed the look with sunglasses, scarves, and structured alligator handbags from their luxury label, The Row, before stopping for lunch during their outing. Long before becoming fashion insiders, the sisters built global recognition as child actors through projects like Full House, It Takes Two, and New York Minute. Over time, they stepped away from Hollywood and fully transitioned into fashion, officially launching The Row in 2005.  Why I won't pressure my deputy to join me at APC - Bayelsa Governor, Diri

Governor Douye Diri of Bayelsa State has declared that he will not compel his deputy, Lawrence Ewhrudjakpo, to join him in the All Progressives Congress (APC).

Diri, who officially defected to the APC on November 3 after resigning from the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) on October 15, made the statement during a State Executive Council meeting held at the Government House, Yenagoa, on Wednesday. His deputy, Ewhrudjakpo, was present at the meeting.

The governor explained that his leadership style favors dialogue over confrontation.

While acknowledging the difficulty of working with a deputy from a different political party, he said ongoing discussions between them are progressing positively.

He also revealed that Ewhrudjakpo has withdrawn a case he filed at the Federal High Court in Abuja seeking to stop an alleged impeachment process against him, following their recent reconciliation efforts.

Diri called on Bayelsans to prioritize peace and unity, stressing that politics should be used as a tool for development rather than division.

“Let me clear the air on what has been circulating in the media. I will not force anyone to join the APC. My role is to persuade and appeal to their conscience. Power is transient   I may have it today, but not forever,” Diri stated.

“It is certainly not ideal for the governor and deputy to belong to different political parties, but we are engaging, and who knows, we might end up in the same camp tomorrow.

We must not overheat the polity. Bayelsa has moved past violence — we are brothers with a shared destiny. Politics should unite us and drive development, not conflict.”
