  DEVELOPING STORY: Man Found Unconscious After Allegedly Throwing Children From Storey Building in Aba A man was reportedly found unconscious but still breathing after allegedly falling from a storey building at New Phase of Umuobe by Barracks, Opobo Road, Obignwa, Abia State. The incident, which occurred on Thursday, has caused panic among residents of the area. Eyewitnesses told Magic FM Aba that the man allegedly threw two of his children from the building before attempting to throw down his wife. However, the circumstances surrounding the incident remain unclear. The two children were reportedly rushed to a hospital for medical attention. As of the time of filing this report, Magic FM Aba could not independently confirm their condition or whether they survived the fall. The man, who sustained an injury to the head, was still lying in front of his house and had yet to receive assistance as of the time of this report. COURT THROWS OUT MAINA'S SUIT AGAINST THE EFCC TODAY.{PHOTOS}.

      Maina had on November 14, 2017, sued the anti-graft agency for what he described as an ineligibility of the commission to carry out its functions on the grounds that the 2004 EFCC Act is an illegality. In the petition he filed through his lawyer, Muhammad Sani Katu, Maina urged the court to declare as null and void the EFCC act of 2004, on the premise that the act was modified by the former president Olusegun Obasanjo without passing the normal legislative processes as enshrined in the 1999 constitution as amended. He also prayed the court to restrain the EFCC or any other security agency from arresting him over allegations of corruption. Maina went to court after he was declared wanted by the EFCC for allegedly diverting recovered pension funds while serving as chairman of the pension reform task team. OBASEKI GIVES 48 HOURS TURN-AROUND ULTIMATUM FOR APPROVAL OF BUILDING PLANS.{PHOTO}.

        Edo State Governor, Mr. Godwin Obaseki, has charged the Ministry of Physical Planning and Urban Development, to ensure a 48-hour turn-around time for approval of building plans in the state within the next two months. Obaseki gave the directive while speaking at a two-day workshop  organised  by the Ministry of Physical Planning and Urban Development, themed: “Strengthening the Institutional Framework for Physical Development Management in Edo State, held in Benin City, the Edo State capital. He also gave  12-month  ultimatum to the Edo Geographical Information Agency, to ensure that Certificates of Occupancy (C of O) and Rights to Occupancy are issued to applicants  within 30 days  of application.       The Enugu Zonal office of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC on Tuesday, March 27, 2018 arraigned four bankers on a twelve count charge of stealing, conversion and obtaining by false pretences to a sum of N129,000,000 (One Hundred and Twenty Nine Million Naira Only).   One of the four bankers who were arraigned before Justice Ike Agu of the State High Court, Onitsha, Anambra State were Nwachukwu Placidus, a former Manager of First City Monument Bank Ltd, Onitsha Branch.Three former bankers with Idemili Micro Finance Bank Ltd were Nnewi Ohaegbunam Chinyere, Egbosi Chiemenam and Nkeiru Okeke. Tney were Managing Director, Internal Auditor, Head of Credit and Marketing respectively.        Workers at the three tiers of Government are to receive their salaries for this month before the Easter break as the Federal, State and Local Governments shared the sum of N647.39 billion from the Federation Account. The money was the revenue collection for the month of February 2018 which was approved at the Federation Account Allocation Committee (FAAC) meeting on Wednesday.
