A man was reportedly found unconscious but still breathing after allegedly falling from a storey building at New Phase of Umuobe by Barracks, Opobo Road, Obignwa, Abia State.

The incident, which occurred on Thursday, has caused panic among residents of the area.

Eyewitnesses told Magic FM Aba that the man allegedly threw two of his children from the building before attempting to throw down his wife. However, the circumstances surrounding the incident remain unclear.

BACKGROUND: 

A man was arrested by operatives of the Nigeria Police Force on Thursday following an incident in which he allegedly threw two of his children from a storey building in Umuobe, near Barracks Junction, along Opobo Road in Obingwa Local Government Area of Abia State.

The incident caused panic among residents after the man was reportedly found lying unconscious but still breathing in front of his house, with an injury to the head.

Eyewitnesses told Magic FM Aba that the man allegedly threw his two children from the upper floor of the building and attempted to throw down his wife before he reportedly fell from the storey building.

The two children were immediately taken to a hospital for medical attention. Magic FM Aba later independently confirmed that both children survived the fall, although details of their medical condition were not immediately available.

As the situation unfolded, residents gathered at the scene and called on the appropriate authorities to intervene and provide assistance.
