  DEVELOPING STORY: Man Found Unconscious After Allegedly Throwing Children From Storey Building in Aba A man was reportedly found unconscious but still breathing after allegedly falling from a storey building at New Phase of Umuobe by Barracks, Opobo Road, Obignwa, Abia State. The incident, which occurred on Thursday, has caused panic among residents of the area. Eyewitnesses told Magic FM Aba that the man allegedly threw two of his children from the building before attempting to throw down his wife. However, the circumstances surrounding the incident remain unclear. The two children were reportedly rushed to a hospital for medical attention. As of the time of filing this report, Magic FM Aba could not independently confirm their condition or whether they survived the fall. The man, who sustained an injury to the head, was still lying in front of his house and had yet to receive assistance as of the time of this report.       The Enugu Zonal office of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC on Monday, July 30th , 2018 arraigned one Florence Okorie before justice H.O Eya of the State High Court Enugu State, on a three count charge bordering on stealing by converting the sum of N3,320,000.00 from one Mr Nnaemeka Nnamani, while being the cashier of Nice and Cool Hotel. Sometimes in 2016, information reached the complainant that the accused, Flo rence Okorie of Obeagu Amechi, Awkunanaw, Enugu State who had worked in his hotel as a cashier for eight years had all the while, been converting the hotel’s proceeds to her personal use. The compalianant decided to place close supervision on her and precisely on 14th Dec, 2016 he received a call that the accused was in bank making transaction and he quickly went to meet her.       The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC, Lagos Zonal office, on Monday, July 30, 2018, arraigned three officials of the Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC, before Justice Muslim Hassan of the Federal High Court sitting in Ikoyi, Lagos. they were arraigned on an eight-count charge bordering on conspiracy, diversion of public funds and money laundering to the tune of N179, 800,000.00 (One Hundred and Seven ty-nine Million, Eight Hundred Thousand Naira). The defendants - Yemi Akinwunmi, Atiba Dickson and Ogunmodede Oladayo-were alleged to have collected the slush funds from a former Minister of Petroleum Resources, Diezani Alison-Madueke, in the build-up to the 2015 presidential election. Investigation revealed that the money was disbursed through Fidelity Bank Plc to some chieftains and members of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, as well as some retired staff of INEC in Ogun State in order to compromise the 2015 general elections. ...

     The Uyo zonal office of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC, on Friday July 27, 2018, took over a merchant vessel MV EFEMENA along with its content of 773,472 litres of illegally refined petroleum product and 8 crew members from the Nigerian Navy in Calabar Cross River state. The Commander NNS Victory, Comd. Julius A. Nwagu said his men effected the arrest of the vessel and cargo  along with the eight Nigerian crew members on board the said vessel on April 18, 2018, along the Calabar water ways, following an intelligence report. According to Comd. Nwagu the vessel was loaded with the illegal petroleum product around Utue platform an offshore oil field days before the approved date granted it.       Lagos State Governor, Mr Akinwunmi Ambode and his counterpart in Edo State, Mr Godwin Obaseki on Sunday heaped accolades on the Dean Emeritus of Church of Nigeria (Anglican Communion) and outgoing Diocesan Bishop of Lagos, Most Rev Adebola Ademowo on his 70 th  birthday, describing him as a respected clergy who contributed significantly to mankind and national development. EU DELEGATION TO NIGERIA & ECOWAS SUPPORTS KADUNA'S SOLAR PROGRAMME WITH 10 MILLION EURO GRANT.{PHOTOS}.

      Impressed by the efforts of Kaduna State Government towards improving service delivery at Public hospitals with the installation of 34 Solar Units, which provides 1.7mw electricity to 34 Primary Healthcare Centers in 21 LGAs in a programme tagged "Kaduna Solar for Clinic" project, EU delegation to Nigeria and ECOWAS have offered a grant of €10m to scale-up the solar project which wil l provide renewable source of electricity to rural hospitals, secondary schools, primary schools and water treatment plants across the state. This grant demonstrates confidence of international donors and development partners on Kaduna state government for prudent management of resources, especially investment in the social sector; education and health.  More photos below.
