RIVERS POLICE APPREHEND NOTORIOUS WANTED KIDNAPPER, SUNDAY AMADI AKA ‘OCCASION’: RESCUE FOUR (4) FROM KIDNAPPERS’ DEN In the early hours of Wednesday, December 14, 2023, men of the Rivers State Police Command engaged a notorious gang of kidnappers and rescued four victims from their clutches. Gunshots rang out as the four blindfolded men scrambled in confusion. When the gunshots ceased, the four men were eased off their blindfolds and realized that they had been rescued by the Police from an ordeal in which they had lost hope. LAWMA TRAINS HEALTHCARE WASTE PERSONNEL The Healthcare Waste Services Department of the Lagos Waste Management Authority (LAWMA), has conducted its Fourth Quarter Training and End of the Year program, at the Authority’s headquarters. The training was aimed at intimating the personnel with the latest techniques in handling healthcare waste, as well as raising the quality of service provided in evacuating and disposing of healthcare waste across the state. The Director, Commercial Services, Mrs. Bimbo Opayemi, educated the trainees on the proper ways of relating and communicating with clients, in the course of duty. She encouraged them to improve on human relations, dressing and approach, when interacting with clients. The Director, Healthcare Waste Department, Mrs. Mojisola Adeleye, encouraged them, to make good use of the knowledge gained during the training; and to be advocates of proper medical waste management.  More photos below.

Insecurity: Nollywood actors, musicians sign up for peace in south east  Nollywood actors, musical artists and other performers in the entertainment industry, mainly from the south east of the country have signed up to a new initiative to totally restore peace in the region. Regretting the unfortunate insecurity and violence that had hitherto prevailed in the zone and its attendant effects on the economy, education of the youths and social life, the actors however said that such was alien to the people of the zone. Two arrested for alleged manufacturing of fake drinks in Lagos Police operatives attached to Ojo Division area of Lagos State on Wednesday, December 20, arrested one Imo Lawrence and his ally, Magnus Nwonka, allegedly involved in manufacturing fake drinks in the state. The Nation learnt that Lawrence aged 35 and Nwonka aged 42 were in possession of fake drinks. The spokesman for the Lagos State Police Command, SP Benjamin Hundeyin confirmed their arrest on his official X handle. He explained: “In the course of investigation, the suspects led detectives to their inconspicuous, multi-room ‘factory.’” Hundeyin disclosed that further investigation was ongoing on the discovery.
