  DEVELOPING STORY: Man Found Unconscious After Allegedly Throwing Children From Storey Building in Aba A man was reportedly found unconscious but still breathing after allegedly falling from a storey building at New Phase of Umuobe by Barracks, Opobo Road, Obignwa, Abia State. The incident, which occurred on Thursday, has caused panic among residents of the area. Eyewitnesses told Magic FM Aba that the man allegedly threw two of his children from the building before attempting to throw down his wife. However, the circumstances surrounding the incident remain unclear. The two children were reportedly rushed to a hospital for medical attention. As of the time of filing this report, Magic FM Aba could not independently confirm their condition or whether they survived the fall. The man, who sustained an injury to the head, was still lying in front of his house and had yet to receive assistance as of the time of this report.  Osun: Group faults selection of new monarch in Iree An Iree socio-cultural group in Boripe North Local Government area of Osun State, Iree Cultural Frontiers (ICF), has described a recent selection exercise to pick a new Iree monarch, the Aare, as a sham and a slap on the community’s culture and tradition.   The group specifically urged Osun State Governor Ademola Adeleke to discountenance the exercise held at the council’s secretariat on February 22, this year, noting that the exact grounds for the nullification of the previous selection exercise had resurfaced. The Osun State Government, acting based on the report in its White Paper, had earlier nullified the selection of Prince Ademola Raphael, stating that it violated due process and that another selection exercise be carried out.  EFCC Arrests 17 Suspected Internet Fraudsters in Abuja   Operatives of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC, on March 1, 2024, arrested seventeen suspected internet fraudsters.   They were arrested in the Gwagwalada axis of the Federal Capital Territory, FCT, Abuja in a sting operation, following credible intelligence on their alleged involvement in internet fraud.    Items recovered from them  are four cars, 22 phones and two laptops.   They will be charged to court as soon as investigations are concluded.
