 Kufana Youths Apprehend Suspected Transformer Vandals, Hand Over Suspects To Police The Executive Chairman of Kajuru Local Government Council, Hon. Dauda Madaki, has commended the vigilance and bravery of youths in Kufana community following the arrest of suspected transformer vandals in the early hours of Tuesday. The suspects, identified as Denis Reuben of Kurmin Ido, Haruna Ado of Kurmin Kwari, and another individual, were reportedly caught while allegedly attempting to steal transformer coils. Their arrest was carried out by a patrol team led by Mr. Samaila Akawu, alongside the community Youth Leader, Mr. Chris Lingo, and other vigilant youths. Following the arrest, the suspects were handed over to the Nigeria Police Force for further investigation and possible prosecution. Reacting to the development, Hon.  Rivers community mourns as Wigwe, wife, son are buried today All is now set for the burial of the late former Chief Executive Officer of Access Holdings, Dr Herbert Wigwe in his hometown, Omueke in Isiokpo, Ikwere Local Government Area of Rivers State on Saturday (today). His remains, which were accompanied by a huge motorcade on Friday, had left the Port Harcourt International Airport, Omagwa in Ikwerre LGA at about 1:33pm straight to his father’s compound in Omueke, Isiokpo. Recall that Wigwe’s kinsmen had insisted that their son must be buried in his hometown. Omueke, even as they vowed to deploy ancient tradition in finding out the cause of his death. Many community members already adorn black attire to welcome Wigwe’s body, while Isiokpo married women gathered at the circle of the entrance into the community to offer prayers for God to avert the spirit of untimely death and the demise of prominent members of the area.  Buhari never saw Oronsaye’s report, says ex-minister Former Minister of Communication, Adebayo Shittu, says that Steven Oronsaye’s report was not presented to ex-President Muhammadu Buhari during his administration. Shittu was a minister during Buhari’s first term in office between 2015 and 2019. According to him, the report was not brought to the attention of the Buhari administration, and as such, there was no need for implementation. He said, “The report had been with the previous government (Jonathan’s) but they didn’t do anything. Nobody brought it to our (Buhari government’s) attention, at least not when I was there. So, the issue never came up for discussion at the Federal Executive Council meeting at all.  Insecurity: Children’s protest over killings in Katsina sparks concern Hundreds of children in Katsina State, North West Nigeria, last week, took to the streets, unguided, following several attacks on different villages in the state by bandits for three consecutive days without intervention from security agents. The children’s actions have been generating reactions from well meaning Nigerians, who saw the development as a slight on the country’s entire security architecture. They blamed the government for allowing the situation to degenerate to the level where minors took protest as an option. FG also assured that it is working assiduously to ensure the price stability of fuel in the overall interest of Nigeria.  It’s unjust to demand rent deposits of one year — Ned Nwoko Senator Ned Nwoko said it is unjust for house owners to demand rent deposits for one year. Nwoko stated this in an interview on Thursday. Recall that the senator proposed the bill, following the first reading of his One-Month Rent Limitation and Landlord Registry Act.  Police bust baby factory in Abia, rescue 16 pregnant women, eight children The Nigeria Police, Abia Command, said it rescued 16 pregnant women and eight children at a baby factory in Aba, Abia State. The Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO), SP Maureen Chinaka, made this known in a statement made available to journalists in the state on Friday. Chinaka, who did not disclose the location of the baby factory in Aba, said the location was withheld to avoid compromising ongoing investigation. She said the Police also arrested one Onyinyechi Okoro and Ekene Okezie, who were alleged operators of the baby factory. According to the statement, the rescued persons are: Joy Mathew, Stella Okon Bella Okon and Idara Emmanuel. Others are: Blessing Okon, Blessing Ede, Promise Akpan, Joy Edet, Josephine Asuquo and Glory John.
