Why I turned down N250m for third term agenda — Wabara Former Senate President Adolphus Wabara has revealed that he rejected the sum of N250 million to support the third-term agenda during former President Olusegun Obasanjo’s administration. In an excerpt from the YouTube interview series “Untold Stories with Adesuwa,” released on Monday, when asked about the truthfulness of this assertion, he said, “That’s very correct.” The third-term agenda marked a pivotal moment in Nigeria’s 25-year uninterrupted democratic history, involving a constitutional amendment bill aimed at allowing then-President Olusegun Obasanjo to run for a third term in office. Speaking further, Wabara revealed that while he didn’t believe the stories that some senators received N50 million at the time, he received N250 million bribe, which was brought to him in a G-Wagon at 1:20 a.m. Wabara also stated that his educational background played a huge role in rejecting the third-term agenda. “I turned down a N250 m...

Publish Reps Probe On Faulty Presidential Jet, Hon Gbillah Urges Lawmakers The former Chairman of the Investigating Committee for Crude Oil Theft in the House of Representatives Mark Gbillah has urged the lower chamber to make its report on the probe of the faulty presential jet public. Gbillah, who represented the Gwer East/Gwer West Federal constituency of Benue State in the 9th Assembly, believes that the issue with the president’s jet could have been caused by a lack of maintenance, especially since the lifespan of the aircraft is still within the allowable limit. “I would encourage the National Assembly to make it public. Every decision concerning this issue should be made public,” Gbillah said. “We can even invite other experts to tell the National Assembly the true situation and the condition of our presidential fleet which I believe should be in good flying condition once every maintenance is made and if there are repairs to be done, those can be done. They carried palm fronds, blew on plastic horns and beat on drums, chanting "Ruto must go!"  Stop ex-minister Diezani from using my name, estranged husband urges court Admiral Alison Madueke has filed a petition in the Lagos State High Court, seeking a legal declaration to end his marriage to Diezani and requesting that she stop using his last name. He is asking the court to order the former Minister of Petroleum Resources to revert to her maiden name, Agama. This was contained in Madueke’s petition for jactitation of marriage (declaration that a marital union has ended). The ex-Chief of Naval Staff argues that Diezani’s ongoing use of his name despite their marriage being legally over is damaging to his reputation and could lead to unintended consequences, including mistaken liability, particularly given the corruption allegations against her. Madueke is a former military governor of Anambra and Imo states. He married Diezani on June 30, 1999, under the Marriage Act. The petitioner, Madueke, noted that Diezani had previously filed for divorce at the Nassarawa State High ...

Osimhen-Finidi saga not NFF’s priority – Enoh Nigeria’s Sports Minister, John Enoh, has stated that handling the recent outburst by Napoli striker Victor Osimhen against former Super Eagles coach Finidi George is not the immediate priority for the Nigeria Football Federation. Addressing the situation among both African Player of the Year winners on Sunday, Enoh highlighted the need for the NFF to prioritize other pressing issues within Nigerian football, rather than being sidetracked by the Osimhen-Finidi controversy. “There has been a plethora of opinions on this. Osimhen is a Trojan for Nigeria, but it was a low,”Enoh said. “I told the NFF not to make a pronouncement on this before they have engaged Osimhen. This is so especially because these are not the best of times for Nigerian football, and we have to manage a lot of things. The NFF have to be focused and not be distracted.” The controversy began when Finidi was alleged to have questioned Osimhen’s commitment to the nationa...
